More than anything else, Bomar will be remembered at the college level as a player who was dismissed from the University of Oklahoma for a violation of NCAA rules, but still managed to make an impact in the last two years with Sam Houston State...In his one active season with the Sooners, the signal-caller completed 54.2 percent of his attempts for 10 touchdowns and 2,018 yards, on his way to being named the MVP of the Holiday Bowl versus the Oregon Ducks...After being cut loose by OU, the Bearkats gave Bomar a shot to lead them in the Southland Conference and he went on to become the all-time passingleader for the school with 5,564 yards in a mere 19 games...Finished two-year stint at SHSU as the all-time leader in offense with 6,159 yards and was an All-America honorable mention...Became one of only 11 players at the NCAA's FCS level to throw for at least 300 yards and rush for 100 in the same game, turning the trick against North Dakota State in 2007...Bomar threw for a career-best 507 yards in a single game versus Southeastern Louisiana as a senior, marking the second-highest total in Sam Houston history...Certainly agreat talent at the college level, having to prove himself with the Bearkats may have taken some of the luster off his promise.
