Description: Jaguars running back Montell Owens won't play Sunday against the Titans. He's out with a knee injury.
Insight: Jacksonville's running back situation has become laughable at this point. With Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashad Jennings, Jalen Parmele and Owens all dealing with injuries, fifth-string back Richard Murphy will get the start on Sunday. Murphy enters today's action with 68 yards on 20 career rushing attempts.

Description: The Florida Times Union reports that the Jaguars would prefer to keep fullback Montell Owens on special teams next season instead of using him as the starting running back.
Insight: Owens has been decent enough filling in for Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashad Jennings and Jalen Parmele the past few weeks (60 rushing yards per game on 5.1 yards per carry) but the Jacksonville coaching staff believes he'd be better utilized as a stud special teamer. Jones-Drew is expected to leave after the season so the running back job in Jacksonville next season would appear to be up for grabs.

Description: Jacksonville fullback Montell Owens, who ran for 91 yards on 14 carries and also scored a touchdown Sunday against the Jets, will get another chance to start in Week 15.
Insight: He'll likely find it tougher against the Dolphins' run defense which is giving up about 34 yards less on the ground than the Jets.

12/9/2012 7:01:00 PM
Description: Jacksonville fullback Montell Owens ran for 91 yards on 14 carries and also scored a touchdown Sunday against the Jets.
Insight: Not bad for the last man standing in the Jaguars' backfield. Owens could find himself as Jacksonville's starting tailback again in Week 15 versus Miami.

12/5/2012 12:30:00 PM
Description: Jacksonville fullback Montell Owens appears to be the Jaguars' starting running back in Week 14, according to a Florida Times-Union report.
Insight: The Jaguars' list of injuries at running back is long with Maurice Jones-Drew (foot), Rashad Jennings (concussion) and Jalen Parmele (groin) sidelined by injury. The Jets are yielding 137.7 ypg on the ground, so this could be a good opportunity for Owens.

12/3/2012 2:25:00 PM
Description: Jacksonville fullback Montell Owens could end up being the Jaguars' starting running back in Week 14 if Rashad Jennings (concussion) isn't ready to run.
Insight: The Jaguars also have running backs Maurice Jones-Drew and Jalen Parmele sidelined by injury leaving them extremely short at the position. Owens is an unknown entity and would be facing the Jets in his first start if the other three backs are inactive.

Description: Jacksonville Jags FB Montell Owens is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with a sprained MCL. SOURCE: TIMES-UNION
Insight: Bad news for MJD owners as Owens was actually a very good blocking FB. With Gabbert at QB, most defenses are going to be keying on Jones-Drew and the run game anyhow.
