Raiders cut QB Flynn
Alameda, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Raiders cut quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday.
Oakland obtained Flynn in April from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a 2014 fifth-round pick.
The Raiders were hoping for Flynn to be their starting quarterback in 2013, but he was beat out by Terrell Pryor for the gig during the preseason.
The 28-year-old Flynn made his first start for the Raiders in their 24-14 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 4 and was demoted to third string three days later.
Oakland owes Flynn $6.5 million for 2013. In two seasons between the Raiders and Seahawks, Flynn accumulated $14.5 million for one start.
In addition, the Raiders activated wide receiver Andre Holmes.
