Description: Rockies right fielder Michael Cuddyer (.319, 7 HR, 23 RBI in 31 games) is struggling to get over his neck injury and at this point doesn't seem likely to be activated on his first day of eligibility (May 24).
Insight: He was still having problems as of Thursday and is a couple of days away from even starting baseball activities. Colorado is 2-6 since Cuddyer was knocked out of the lineup and scored zero or one run in half those games.

Insight: "This is something I've dealt with since 2004," Cuddyer said. "When this happens, it locks me up. I can't turn my neck, and it makes it very difficult to play." Eric Young should receive most of Cuddyer's at-bats, although the team did call up outfielder Charlie Blackmon who is batting .336 at Colorado Springs.

Insight: Cuddyer hasn't played since July 31 due to the ailment. He really hasn't experienced a boost in production in his move to Coors Field, posting an .803 OPS in 98 games after putting up an .805 OPS last season with the Twins.

Insight: Cuddyer hasn't played since July 31 due to the ailment. Even though the injury isn't believed to be serious, it evidently wasn't healing fast enough for Cuddyer to avoid the disabled list so there's a chance it lingers and forces him to stay out for an extended period of time.
