Description: Kings forward Anze Kopitar scored his eighth goal of the season on his lone SOG Saturday against the Flames.
Insight: After taking at least 230 SOG in four straight seasons, Kopitar has just 34 in 22 games this season, a pace of 127 per 82 games. However, he has still been a point-per-game player due to a 23.5 scoring percentage and 14 assists. He has 19 points in his last 17 games.

Description: Kings forward Anze Kopitar assisted on Los Angeles' first goal and later scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Detroit Wednesday night.
Insight: Kopitar took four SOG in Wednesday's game, which is surprisingly more than he took in the previous three games combined. Despite averaging just 1.6 SOG per game (2.8 last season), Kopitar has six goals and 17 points in 17 games. He has attempted at least 230 SOG in the last four seasons so we expect him to start firing away in the second half.

Description: A Denver Post report says Kings center Anze Kopitar (knee) will return to the lineup on Tuesday versus the Colorado Avalanche.
Insight: The original injury had a 3-4 week timeframe, but he'll apparently play a lot sooner with the help of a knee brace. Kopitar had 25 goals and 51 assists last season and is obviously a must start if on the ice.

Description: Kings center Anze Kopitar (knee) skated on his own this week and has been fitted for a knee brace.
Insight: The original injury had a 3-4 week timeframe, but it is looking like he'll only miss one week of the regular season if there are no setbacks. This is good news for one of the league's top centers and fantasy owners of his linemates Dustin Penner and Justin Williams as well.

Insight: Kopitar's agent said this week that the forward would need 3-4 weeks but it looks like he'll be back sooner than that. He should only miss two or three games in addition to training camp, but he's been playing in Sweden and should be ready to go when his knee heals. The center has exceeded 70 points in four of the last five seasons.

Description: Kings center Anze Kopitar will be sidelined for the next 3-to-4 weeks according to his agent, Pat Brisson. Kopitar hurt his knee playing in Europe during the lockout.
Insight: The season is set to start in about a week and a half so Kopitar should miss a handful of games. Don't let that discourage you from taking him early in this year's fantasy draft, however. When he's healthy, Kopitar (25 goals, 51 assists in 2011-12) is one of the most dominant scorers in all of hockey.

Insight: Kopitar left Saturday's game against Colorado in the second period after being checked into the boards by Avalanche defenseman Ryan O'Byrne. Fantasy owners still active should drop Kopitar in non-keeper formats. The earliest he would likely return would be the second round of the playoffs, should the Kings make it that far.
