Bombers add WR Sims-Walker
Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms with receiver Mike Sims-Walker.
Details of the contract for the long-time NFL receiver were undisclosed.
Sims-Walker last played in the NFL during the 2011 season with St. Louis and Jacksonville. He suffered a knee injury in November of that year and didn't play in the NFL in 2012.
"Mike is a very experienced receiver who we feel possesses great skill that could allow him to excel on our wide open fields in Canada," said Bombers acting general manager Kyle Walters in a statement Tuesday. "We're looking forward to getting him acclimated to the CFL game."
The 28-year-old Central Florida product was selected by Jacksonville in the third round of the 2007 draft and sat out his rookie season because of an injury. He caught 134 passes for 1,798 yards and 14 touchdowns in 44 games over four NFL seasons with the Jaguars (2008-10, 2011) and Rams (2011).
