New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - D'Angelo Harrison notched a game-high 27 points for the St. John's Red Storm, who knocked off the Marquette Golden Eagles, 74-59, in Big East play at Madison Square Garden.

Harrison shot 7-of-16 from the field for the Red Storm (13-9, 3-6 Big East), who have won four of their last five games. Jakarr Sampson contributed 10 points. Chris Obekpa accounted for seven points, seven rebounds and an impressive seven blocked shots.

Derrick Wilson logged 14 points for the Golden Eagles (12-10, 4-5), who have lost three of their last five. Deonte Burton (11 points), Jake Thomas (11) and Davante Gardner (10) also reached double figures.

The Golden Eagles struggled mightily in the opening half where they shot just 26.7 percent from the field. The Red Storm, on the other hand, hit 46.2 percent and took a 33-20 lead into halftime.

In the second half the Eagles improved to 41.7 percent from the floor, but the Red Storm kept up the pressure at 46.7 percent as their lead ballooned 26 points with 7:07 left to play.

St. John's outscored the visitors 21-6 in points off turnovers and 14-5 on fast-break points in the lopsided decision.
