(Sports Network) - The two-time NBA Champion Miami Heat don't need to do much
to improve for next season.
Good thing, because the Heat don't have any picks in this year's draft.
After winning their second straight title in a hard-fought, seven-game series
with the San Antonio Spurs, the Heat only have two players who are not under
contract next season, Chris Anderson and Juwan Howard.
Anderson played a critical role as the backup big man, but Howard was
basically an assistant coach.
This could potentially be a big offseason for the Heat. It would be easy to
stand pat, ride on LeBron James' coat tails and contend for another
Or, Miami could look to improve. One area the Heat could use some upgrading is
the interior. Both the Indiana Pacers and Spurs had overwhelming advantages in
the paint against the Heat.
Chris Bosh has turned into a 6-foot-11 jump shooter. Miami has no one to score
on the inside, but, even worse, no one to stop the opposition from scoring or
Moving Bosh might be the alternative. There have been rumors of interest from
the Charlotte Bobcats, but would the Heat break up the Big Three after two
title in three years? That's doubtful, but possible.
