Dominic Oduro's tally late in the first half was enough to lift the Columbus Crew to a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday at BMO Field.
Columbus was on the front foot early on and had several quality scoring chances in the first half before finally breaking through three minutes before the interval.
On the play, Columbus quickly regained possession following a turnover in midfield and the ball came to Federico Higuain, who lofted a ball over the top, splitting the two Toronto central defenders and it fell right to the feet of the onrushing Oduro, who took a quick touch and beat TFC goalkeeper Joe Bendik with a toe poke.
