Hawks acquire Sefolosha from OKC

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks acquired guard/forward Thabo Sefolosha from the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.

The Hawks reportedly signed Sefolosha last week but instead completed a sign- and-trade with the Thunder, sending them the draft rights to Sofoklis Schortsanitis for Sefolosha and the draft rights to Giorgos Printezis.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sefolosha agreed to a three-year, $12 million contract with the Hawks.

"Thabo is an unselfish, competitive and playoff-tested player, and does many things well on both sides of the ball," Hawks general manager Danny Ferry said. "He also fills a need, giving us more size and depth at the wing position. He's been a part of winning programs and will fit our culture well."

Sefolosha had spent the past five-plus seasons with the Thunder and played a key part in Oklahoma City's march to the 2012 NBA Finals. The 30-year-old averaged 6.3 points and 3.6 rebounds while starting 61 games for the Thunder last season.

Printezis, a 2007 second-round draft pick, plays for Olympiacos Piraeus in Greece.

Schortsanitis has never played in the NBA after being selected in the 2003 draft. He currently plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.
