NCAA Game Summary - Delaware at William & Mary

Williamsburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Davon Usher poured in 28 points to lift the Delaware Blue Hens to an 89-72 victory over the William & Mary Tribe in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at Kaplan Arena.

Usher also pulled down nine rebounds for the Blue Hens (15-7, 7-0 CAA), who also received 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the floor courtesy of Carl Baptiste. Devon Saddler contributed 19 points and seven assists while Kyle Anderson registered a double-double of 11 points and 10 boards. Delaware managed to protect its perfect league record despite playing without Jarvis Threatt and Marvin King-Davis, who were both suspended on Wednesday for a one- month period for violating athletic department policies.

William & Mary (12-7, 4-2) was led by Marcus Thornton, who tallied 19 points, five assists and a pair of blocks. Daniel Dixon netted 15 points off the bench and Tim Rusthoven grabbed eight boards in the Tribe's first CAA loss at Kaplan Arena this season.

Delaware knocked down 48.6 percent of its field goal attempts including 7- of-13 from 3-point range in the opening period en route to a 47-33 lead at the intermission. The Tribe trailed after they were limited to 34.5 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half.

Although William & Mary heated up to convert 47.1 percent of its shots from the field after the break, the Blue Hens managed to sink 11-of-14 tries at the charity stripe to maintain a comfortable lead for the entirety of the second half.

Delaware enjoyed a 42-30 edge in the rebounding battle which helped it outscore the Tribe, 14-4, in second chance points.
