Description: Giants TE Ben Patrick has decided to retire. Source: Paul Schwartz via Twitter
Insight: The 27-year old, surprisingly, has decided hang them up. Patrick was all but assured of a roster spot, possibly a starting spot, with Kevin Boss leaving in free agency. This leaves the Giants scrambling for a tight end. Cross this potential sleeper off your cheat sheets.

Description: Patrick had five receptions for 30 yards against the Saints on Sunday.
Insight: Patrick could become someone to keep an eye on in fantasy leagues if rookie QB Max Hall continues to target him. (

Description: Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports, via Twitter, that Patrick (knee) will undergo an MRI on Thursday morning on his sprained left knee.

Description: National Football Post reports the Cardinals are expected to Patrick a second-round level tender.
Insight: Patrick is almost certain to return to Arizona. He has become an effective blocker, but does not see enough looks in the passing game to be fantasy relevant. (

Description: AZ reports that Patrick (concussion) returned to a full practice on Thursday.
Insight: Patrick suffered a concussion in December, but now appears to be over it. He should be ok for Sunday's game against the Packers, but is not a good fantasy option since the Cardinals' tight ends are not a prominent part of the passing game. (

Description: According to the Arizona Republic, Patrick (concussion) is recovering from a concussion and has not yet been cleared to play.
Insight: Patricks seems unlikely to play this week against St. Louis. In his place, Stephen Spach and Anthony Becht will likely split duties. In any case, no Cardinals' TE is targeted enough to be fantasy relevant. (

Description: Patrick (suspension) has been cleared to return to action this week against Seattle.
Insight: Patrick may still be a healthy inactive this week, since he is behind in terms of conditioning and being in "game shape." Even once he's active, the Cardinals don't throw to their tight ends enough for him to be fantasy relevant. (

Description: reports that Patrick has been suspended for four games for testing positive for Adderall, which a person uses to stay awake.
Insight: That shouldn't affect anyone's fantasy team. (

Description: Patrick will be looking to build on his 2008 season that saw him record 11 receptions and 104 yards in 10 games. He caught a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl against the Steelers.
Insight: A 7th round draft pick in 2007, Patrick will be used primarily as a blocker so his fantasy value is limited. There will be better options available so let him sit on the waiver wire. (
