Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) - Nic Grigsby piled up a career-high 207 rushing yards and two touchdowns, leading the Arizona Wildcats to a 34-17 win over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in a non-conference matchup at Arizona Stadium.
The Arizona (2-0) ground game churned out a total of 365 rushing yards while averaging 7.8 yards per carry. With the running attack working flawlessly, quarterback Matt Scott finished with just 150 yards on 14-of-20 passing.
NAU (0-1) quarterback Michael Herrick was 20-of-30 for 159 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Both of his touchdown passes went to Ed Berry, who finished with 71 yards on seven catches.
Grigsby opened the scoring with a 25-yard touchdown scamper on Arizona's opening possession.
Two minutes later, Lumberjacks kicker Matt Myers connected on a 43-yard field goal to cut the lead to 7-3.
But Arizona's ground game was just getting warmed up. Grigsby capped a 68-yard drive with a 30-yard touchdown run at the 5:39 mark of the opening frame.
The Lumberjacks answered with a 14-play, 79-yard drive, punctuated by Herrick's four-yard touchdown pass to Berry.
Arizona extended its lead to 21-10 on a two-yard touchdown pass from Scott to Terrell Turner in the final minute of the half.
Arizona took a 27-10 lead on Keola Antolin's one-yard touchdown run at the 10:07 mark of the third quarter, which was the only scoring in the frame.
In the opening minute of the fourth quarter, backup Nick Foles found Juron Criner for a five-yard scoring strike to put the Wildcats ahead comfortably.
NAU could only muster seven more points, on a 19-yard touchdown pass from Herrick to Berry.
The Wildcats have their first four-game win streak since 2000.
