Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Ronnie Weaver ran for 180 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the UCF Knights to a 49-35 victory over the East Carolina Pirates in a Conference-USA tussle at Bright House Networks Stadium.

Jeffrey Godfrey completed an efficient 8-of-12 passes for 159 yards and threw two touchdowns under center in the win for UCF (6-2, 4-0 C-USA). Latavius Murray gained 47 yards rushing and scored three times with just seven totes.

Dominique Davis threw for 310 yards to lead East Carolina (5-3, 4-1) in the losing effort, completing 39-of-54 passes with three touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for a pair of touchdowns. Dwayne Harris caught nine balls for 146 yards and a score for the Pirates, while Giavanni Ruffin led the ground game with 63 yards.

The Knights jumped out to an early 7-0 lead with an eight-yard strike from Godfrey to A.J. Guyton, capping an eight-play, 44-yard opening drive.

Godfrey then gave the Knights a 14-0 advantage midway through the period with a 40-yard toss to Kamar Aiken.

The Pirates got on the board late in the stanza, cutting the UCF lead to 14-7 following a three-yard pass from Davis to Andrew Bodenheimer.

The Knights pulled even further ahead early in the second frame, following a one-yard Weaver plunge.

Davis found the end zone after a 10-yard scamper midway through the stanza to pull the Pirates to within 21-14.

But the Knights tacked on a one-yard scoring run from Murray with under two minutes remaining to earn a 28-14 halftime lead.

Early in the third quarter, Davis found Harris with a two-yard scoring strike to cut the UCF lead down to 28-21, but the Knights hit paydirt following a two-yard Murray run to pull back ahead 35-21.

A nine-yard touchdown run by Weaver early in the final period of play extended the Knights advantage to 42-21.

The Pirates added a four-yard Davis run to pull to within a score just minutes later, but the Knights went ahead 49-28 midway through the frame following a 10-yard Murray run.

Davis found Justin Jones with a three-yard strike late in the frame to account for the final score of the contest.
