Final Score: Boston College 21, Duke 16

Durham, NC (Sports Network) - Chase Rettig threw for 230 yards and a pair of second-half touchdowns as the Boston College Eagles rallied for a 21-16 win over the Duke Blue Devils in Atlantic Coast Conference action at Wallace Wade Stadium.

The BC defense came up with a game-saving stand in the final minute on 4th- and-goal from the 4, as the Eagles (5-5, 3-4 ACC) notched their second road win in as many weeks and third straight win overall. Montel Harris carried 23 times for 109 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Conner Vernon caught 12 passes for 134 yards for the Blue Devils (3-7, 1-5), who saw their win streak halted at two games. Sean Renfree threw for 285 yards on 35-of-49 passing.

Duke kicker Will Snyderwine accounted for the only points of the first quarter with a 29-yard field goal.

BC grabbed a 7-3 lead at the 7:24 mark of the second quarter when Harris found the end zone on a 15-yard run.

A 40-yard field goal by Snyderwine just before the half sent the Blue Devils to intermission trailing, 7-6.

The Eagles opened the second half with a seven-play, 73-yard drive, capped by Rettig's 38-yard scoring strike to Bobby Swigert.

BC pushed its lead to 21-6 on Rettig's four-yard touchdown pass to Ifeanyi Momah at the 7:11 mark of the third quarter.

The Blue Devils answered with a 14-play drive that lasted more than five minutes, but once again they had to settle for three points as Snyderwine kicked a 33-yard field goal.

Duke finally reached the end zone with 12:09 remaining in the fourth quarter thanks to the defense, as Walt Canty forced a fumble and August Campbell returned it 95 yards for a touchdown to cut the lead to 21-16.

Duke put together another late drive in hopes of its second straight last- minute comeback, but the BC defense had other plans.

The Eagles will try to become bowl eligible next week when they host Virginia.
