GAME NOTES: The Hofstra Pride are set to host the UNC Wilmington Seahawks tonight in a matchup between Colonial Athletic Association cellar dwellers.

UNCW remains winless in conference play (0-9), and has not tasted victory against any opponent since the first week of December. The Seahawks were in action on Wednesday night against William & Mary and were dealt a 54-50 home loss.

For Hofstra, this is the lone home game in a five-game stretch that will resume next week at James Madison and at Drexel. The Pride has dropped each of its last five outings, including Wednesday's 81-73 setback at Northeastern.

The all-time series between these two schools is tied at 14-14. However, Hofstra captured a 69-64 road win over the Seahawks on Jan. 15 behind a school record-tying seven 3-pointers from Zeke Upshaw.

UNCW and William & Mary both struggled from the floor in the first half of Wednesday's contest, as each team shot less than 35 percent. But the Tribe stepped up its play in the second stanza with a 60 percent effort to pull away. Tanner Milson paced UNCW with a team-high 11 points in 22 minutes off the bench, while Cedrick Williams recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. For Williams, it marked the 21st time in 24 games he scored in double figures, and it was his 10th career double-digit rebounding performance. He is shooting 51.3 percent from the floor on the season and leads UNCW in scoring (13.8), rebounding (7.2) and blocks (1.6). Addison Spruill is second on the team with 10.5 ppg.

Hofstra drained 10 3-pointers (.417) in its last outing, yet was unable to keep pace with a Northeastern squad that shot 55 percent from the floor in each half. Dion Nesmith led all scorers with 20 points in the loss, while Zeke Upshaw scored 16, and Jamall Robinson finished with 13. Upshaw, who starred in the earlier meeting with UNCW, leads the Pride with 18.9 ppg on the season and has reached double figures in 14 straight games. Nesmith has scored in double figures in seven straight games and is second on the team with 13.2 ppg. He is also averaging better than four assists per tilt and is shooting a team-best 44 percent from beyond the arc (44-of-101). However, Hofstra has allowed foes to shoot 45.4 percent from the floor and average 73.2 ppg.

UNCW learned from the first head-to-head meeting that it can ill-afford to let Upshaw get hot from the perimeter. The question is, can the Seahawks put enough points on the board on Hofstra's home floor to finally notch their first CAA victory of the season?

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Hofstra 67, UNC Wilmington 62
