GAME NOTES: The Austin Peay Governors wrap up a three-game homestand on Saturday night, as they host the Southeast Missouri Redhawks in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Dunn Center.
Southeast Missouri rallied from a double-digit deficit, but couldn't get over the hump in an 82-75 loss to Murray State on Thursday night in their OVC opener.
Jarekious Bradley scored a team-high 22 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, en route to his 11th 20-point game this season. He continues to lead the Redhawks in scoring with 20.6 ppg.
Josh Langford followed with 17 points off the bench for the Redhawks, who have dropped two in a row. Nino Johnson and Tyler Stone followed with 13 and 10 points, respectively, for SEMO, which has dropped four of five decisions overall, and three straight on the road.
Stone is the second-leading scorer on the roster, averaging 17.9 ppg and a team-best 9.4 rpg. Southeast Missouri averages 82.6 ppg while permitting 74.3 ppg.
Chris Horton blocked an Austin Peay-record eight shots to go with his 16 points and 12 rebounds, as the Governors posted an 81-68 victory on Thursday night against UT Martin in their league lid lifter.
Zavion Williams contributed 16 points and Will Triggs and Travis Betran each scored 15 for APSU, which has won two in a row.
Horton and Betran lead the Governors in scoring, with the former putting up 13.9 to go with an outstanding 10.1 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game, while the latter accounts for 13.5 ppg. Triggs rounds out the double-digit scorers with 11.1, as Austin Peay lights up the scoreboard for 76.6 ppg.
Austin Peay has performed well at home this season (5-2), while Southeast Missouri has struggled on the road (2-5). Expect both trends to continue as the Govs claim another solid victory.
