Poughkeepsie, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam Kemp registered a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Marist Red Foxes slipped by the Saint Peter's Peacocks, 70-63, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the McCann Center.
Khallid Hart chipped in 15 points, Chavaughn Lewis 14 and T.J. Curry 10 points for the Red Foxes (6-12, 3-5 MAAC) as they snapped a three-game slide.
The Peacocks (7-10, 3-5) were paced by Marvin Dominique who posted game highs with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Trevis Wyche logged 13 points and five assists as the team had a three-game win streak snapped. Chris Burke and Desi Washington contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Marist got off to a very slow start, hitting a total of just eight field goals in the first half, a mere 1-of-9 behind the 3-point line, but it was lucky to be trailing by just six points at the break, 31-25.
In the second half the Red Foxes bounced back in a big way with not only 52.4 percent accuracy from the floor, but also 19-of-27 shooting at the free-throw line, en route to the seven-point home win.
While Saint Peter's was able to establish a 41-33 rebounding advantage, the visitors trailed at the charity stripe by a 27-12 margin.
