NCAA Game Summary - Texas-Arlington at Eastern Michigan

Ypsilanti, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Raven Lee poured in a career-high 38 points to propel the Eastern Michigan Eagles edge to a 74-69 victory over the Texas-Arlington Mavericks in a non-conference matchup at the Convocation Center.
Lee shot 12-of-15 from the field, including 5-of-5 from the perimeter, and hit 9-of-12 from the free throw line for the Eagles (5-0) who won their fifth straight game to begin the season. Darell Combs contributed 18 points and Karrington Ward added another 11 points.
Brandon Edwards notched a double-double to lead the Mavericks (2-5) with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Reger Dowell logged 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field. Jamel Outler added another 12 points.
The Eagles took advantage of nine first half turnovers by the Mavericks and jumped out to a 42-35 at halftime. Despite shooting a better percentage from the field, the Mavericks allowed the Eagles far more total shots in the opening 20 minutes.
In the second half, the Mavericks shot even better at 50 percent from the field and outscored the hosts, 34-32. The Eagles, however, were able to capitalize on a solid performance at the free-throw line, hitting 9-of-13, and they never trailed in the game.
Texas-Arlington outscored EMU in the paint, 26-10, and on fast break points, 12-4. EMU used a 13-8 edge in points off of turnovers and 41 bench points to stay perfect on the early season.
