NCAA Game Summary - Auburn at South Carolina

Columbia, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - KT Harrell and Chris Denson both poured in 25 points, as the Auburn Tigers outlasted the South Carolina Gamecocks, 79-74, in SEC action at Colonial Life Arena.
Denson shot 8-of-12 from the field and Harrell handed out six assists for Auburn (11-9, 3-6 SEC), which has won three straight on the heels of a six- game losing streak. Tahj Shamsid-Deen scored 12 points for the visitors, while Allen Payne logged nine points and nine rebounds.
For South Carolina (8-14, 1-8), Brenton Williams paced all scorers with 29 points on 10-of-14 from the field, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range. Mindaugas Kacinas and Duane Notice put up 14 and 12 points, respectively, and Sindarius Thornwell registered eight points and nine assists.
South Carolina shot 44.4 percent from the field in the first half, just barely better than Auburn's 44.1 percent showing, but the Tigers took a 38-35 lead into intermission after attempting seven more field goals in the opening 20 minutes.
The Tigers extended their lead to 16 early in the second stanza, but the Gamecocks came storming back with an 18-2 run to tie the game at 62 on a Kacinas layup with 7:50 remaining. Auburn retook the advantage on its next possession with a Shamsid-Deen bucket and never relinquished the lead from that point forward.
Auburn shot 16-of-20 from the free-throw line, while South Carolina was only 13-of-22 at stripe.
