GAME NOTES: The Robert Morris Colonials saw a seven-game win streak come to an end Saturday, but they'll try to get back in the win column as they travel to face the LIU-Brooklyn Blackbirds in Northeast Conference play at Steinberg Wellness Center.

Robert Morris tops the Northeast Conference standings at 7-1, having won its first seven conference games before losing the team's first to Central Connecticut State Saturday, 74-73.

LIU-Brooklyn has lost two games in a row and three of its last four altogether. The Blackbirds are coming off a 95-92 defeat at the hands of Mount St. Mary's Saturday. LIU-Brooklyn is 2-6 in Northeast Conference play this year.

Robert Morris has the edge in the all-time series with LIU-Brooklyn, 38-28. The last time these teams met on the court was Feb. 2, 2013 - a 60-57 Colonials' victory. The two programs will meet again later this season on Feb. 20 in Moon Township.

Robert Morris had a commanding 46-30 halftime lead over Central Connecticut State, but allowed it to slowly dissolve in the second period. With two seconds left in regulation, and with a one-point lead, Robert Morris fouled a CCSU player, which sent him to the free-throw line for two shots. CCSU sunk both for the one-point advantage, which held up after the remaining seconds ran off the clock. Lucky Jones scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Colonials, and Karvel Anderson chipped in 18.

Anderson and Jones are by far the two leading scorers for the Colonials this season, and also the only two to average point totals in the double digits. Anderson leads the squad with 19.2 ppg this year on 52.1 percent shooting from the floor. Jones is second at 14.1 ppg with a team-best 6.5 rpg average to show off. Anthony Myers-Pate leads the team with 95 total assists on the season.

Mount St. Mary's took a three-point halftime advantage over LIU-Brooklyn, 45-42, which was all the team would need. Each squad scored 50 points in the second half, and Mount St. Mary's held on for the three-point victory. E.J. Reed netted 24 points to pace the Blackbirds, while both Troy Joseph and Iverson Fleming contributed 18 points to the losing effort. Jason Brickman added 12 points with 12 assists, and Landon Atterberry tallied 11 points in the loss.

Atterberry and Reed are the top two scorers for the Blackbirds this season. Atterberry is first on the team with 12.2 ppg, while Reed isn't too far off the pace at 12 ppg. Atterberry shoots a 53.8 percent clip from the floor this season. Reed brings down a team-high 5 rpg with 19 blocked shots. Brickman is third in scoring with an 11.6 ppg average, but is by far the best when it comes to assists with 211 on the year, leading the nation in that category at 10.0 apg.

LIU-Brooklyn averages a steady 73.6 ppg this season, but has trouble keeping opponents from scoring, as the Blackbirds allow 81.4 ppg to the opposition. Robert Morris can get back in the win column by taking advantage of spotty defense in this one.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Robert Morris 79, LIU-Brooklyn 71
