Description: 49ers running back Frank Gore (hip) is active for Week 11 against the Giants.
Insight: The Giants run defense was shedded by Seattle last weekend and Gore and the 49ers could be in for a big game.

11/16/2014 6:47:00 AM
Description: 49ers running back Frank Gore had a decent fantasy day against the Giants.
Insight: Gore rushed 19 times for 95 yards for an even 5.0 yards per carry. He also caught two passes for 19 more yards. Gore, however, did not find the end zone and lost a fumble.

Description: 49ers running back Frank Gore (hip) is listed as probable for Week 11 against the Giants.
Insight: Chalk him up as an RB2 for Sunday.

11/9/2014 6:21:00 PM
Description: 49ers running back Frank Gore rushed for 81 yards in Sunday's victory versus New Orleans.
Insight: He did so on 23 carries, and scored a touchdown as well. Carlos Hyde also scored a touchdown, and owners need to know that both backs will get snaps throughout the rest of the season.

Cold11/2/2014 7:37:00 PM
Description: 49ers running back Frank Gore had 14 carries for 49 yards against the Rams.
Insight: San Francisco seems to have lost its identity on offense. Kaepernick dropped back over 40 times and against the potent Rams pass rush, St. Louis sacked the 49ers eight times. Gore hasn't rushed for 100 yards since Week 5.

Cold10/20/2014 10:24:00 AM
Description: San Francisco running back Frank Gore turned in another very quiet game - just 20 yards rushing.
Insight: Again falling behind early didn't help, but the 49ers offensive line could do nothing with the Denver defense.

10/14/2014 12:16:00 AM
Description: San Francisco running back Frank Gore turned in a very quiet game - just 38 yards rushing.
Insight: Falling behind by 14 points didn't help, but he still saw 16 touches and did nothing with them to end his 100-yard game streak at two.

Hot10/11/2014 3:55:00 PM
Description: San Francisco offensive coordinator told CSN Bay Area the team is purposefully limiting running back Frank Gore's carries this season.
Insight: Gore has 77 rushes this season, which is the second-fewest through five games of any season in his career. Gore has been used more in the last two games, getting 24 carries against Philadelphia in Week 4 and 18 attempts versus the Chiefs in Week 5. The 49ers won both those games after starting the year 1-2. It might be hard to turn away from the running game the rest of the season because that is how San Francisco wants to win. Perhaps Carlos Hyde will be more involved going forward, but count on Gore to get his share.

Hot10/6/2014 10:23:00 AM
Description: San Francisco running back Frank Gore was again the featured player in the 49ers offense and he rushed for 107 yards on 18 carries.
Insight: Gore rushed 24 times for 119 yards and caught a 55-yard touchdown pass last weekend. The 49ers have gone back to basics, running the ball and playing good defense, and that means Gore will be a solid fantasy option.

9/29/2014 10:50:00 AM
Description: San Francisco running back Frank Gore complained about lack of opportunities last weekend and the "squeaky wheel got the grease."
Insight: Gore rushed 24 times for 119 yards and caught a 55-yard touchdown pass. That's more like it.

Cold9/22/2014 10:25:00 AM
Description: San Francisco running back Frank Gore was AWOL Sunday against the Cardinals.
Insight: Rookie Carlos Hyde rushed for a touchdown and Gore ran for just 10 yards on a season low six carries. The only guy who gained any yards on the ground was Colin Kaepernick.

7/17/2014 3:31:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's John Clayton, 49ers running back Frank Gore could see 50 fewer carries in 2014 than he did last year.
Insight: Earlier this month, ESPN NFC West blogger Bill Williamson projected Gore to get 220 carries, 56 fewer than the 276 he had last season. Gore no longer contributes in the passing game so he'll be no more than a low-end RB2 with just 220 carries.

7/7/2014 9:53:00 PM
Description: ESPN.com's 49ers blogger Bill Williamson projects Frank Gore will get 220 carries in 2014.
Insight: That would be a decrease of 56 carries from last season. If he receives just 220 carries, Gore would have to increase his ypc from 4.1 to 4.6 to rush for 1,000 yards for the eighth time in the last nine years. San Francisco drafted Carlos Hyde in the second round this year and has stashed Marcus Lattimore since last year while he recovered from a serious knee injury. Because Gore no longer contributes in the passing game -- he had 51 catches per season from 2006-2010 but 61 catches total in Jim Harbaugh's three years as 49ers coach -- he would have a difficult time returning RB2 value with 220 carries.

Description: San Francisco running back Frank Gore is dealing with a sore knee, but is probable for Sunday's NFC Championship against Seattle.
Insight: Gore had a tough day against Carolina, but still managed 92 yards from scrimmage. He faces another tough run defense Sunday as Seattle yielded the fewest total yards this season (4,378) and seventh fewest rushing yards (1,626).

12/15/2013 11:59:00 AM
Description: San Francisco running back Frank Gore was limited in practice while dealing with an apparent ankle injury, but is active for the game against the Tampa Bay
Insight: Gore should be started as always. He's posted double-digit carries in 12 of 13 games this season and should get his normal 13-17 carries a game versus the Bucs.

12/1/2013 2:59:00 PM
Description: San Francisco running back Frank Gore was limited in practice while dealing with an apparent ankle injury, but is active for the game against the Rams.
Insight: Gore played less than his normal workload in the 49ers Monday night win over Washington due to the ankle, but should be ready for normal usage versus St. Louis on Sunday.

Hot10/27/2013 6:49:00 PM
Description: Niners halfback Frank Gore produced another solid fantasy outing Sunday against the Jaguars (19 rushes, 71 yards, 2 TD).
Insight: Gore doesn't have the jets of a C.J. Spiller or a Chris Johnson but he might be the most consistent running back in the league. He's rushed for at least 70 yards in each of his last six games with six end zone scampers over that span. Fantasy owners will miss him when he goes on bye next week.

Hot10/20/2013 7:41:00 PM
Description: The Titans held Frank Gore to 70 rushing yards on 24 carries (2.9 ypc) Sunday afternoon, but he had 34 receiving yards on two catches and scored two touchdowns.
Insight: Gore has produced RB1 numbers -- 542 total yards, four touchdowns -- over the last five games after picking up just 95 yards on 33 touches the first two games. He's averaging 21.5 carries per game in four games since he voiced complaints about his usage to coach Jim Harbaugh.

9/26/2013 4:11:00 PM
Description: San Francisco 49ers tailback Frank Gore (knee) is probable for Thursday's game against the Rams, according to CSNBayArea.com.
Insight: Gore banged his left knee during San Francisco's loss to the Colts Sunday, but he was never in danger of missing Thursday's game. Gore had 82 yards on 11 carries against the Colts but the 49ers went away from the run, leading to Gore having some words with coach Jim Harbaugh Sunday. Look for him to carry the football early and often Thursday against a Rams team that allowed a big game to DeMarco Murray in Week 3.
