Description: Running back LeGarrette Blount led the team in rushing during Week 12's win against the Lions.
Insight: He had 12 carries for 78 yards, making the backfield even more cloudy. Shane Vereen chipped in eight carries for 12 yards and eight catches for 48 yards, while Jonas Gray did no have a touch, after missing Friday's practice.

11/20/2014 12:04:00 PM
Description: Running back LeGarrette Blount has been signed by one of his former teams - the Patriots.
Insight: That didn't take long. He's likely just there as insurance in case Jonas Gray gets hurt, but with Bill Belichick you never know. Remember his playoff performance against the Colts?

11/18/2014 1:36:00 PM
Description: Running back LeGarrette Blount has been waived.
Insight: That didn't take long. We were just hearing rumors of his discontent over the past month and he left the field early on Monday night. The Steelers will go with Le'Veon Bell. Dri Archer becomes Bell's handcuff.

10/25/2014 3:59:00 PM
Description: Running back LeGarrette Blount will replace Dri Archer as the Steelers kick returner.
Insight: The rookie Archer has been a huge disappointment. The Steelers are averaging 17.5 yards per return and are ranked No. 31st in starting field position. Archer's longest return is 23 yards. Blount averaged 29.1 yards per return in New England last year. This won't be much of a factor in fantasy other than maybe Blount will receive fewer rushing attempts, lowering his overall fantasy value.

Description: Running back LeGarrette Blount has signed a two-year, $3.85 million deal with Pittsburgh. SOURCE: Aaron Wilson, Baltimore Sun
Insight: Blount (772 yards, 7 TD with the Patriots last season) has shown flashes of talent over the years, but he'll be stuck behind Le'Veon Bell and doesn't figure to have much fantasy value in 2014.

Hot12/29/2013 8:20:00 PM
Description: Playing in pouring rain, Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount had the game of his life Sunday in a win over Buffalo.
Insight: Blount was a force of nature on Sunday. He finished the afternoon with 334 all purpose yards including 189 yards from scrimmage. The 250-pound Oregon alum has found the end zone four times in his last two games. He had just three touchdowns in his previous 14 contests. He'll be the Patriots' featured back when New England hosts the winner of next week's wild card matchup between San Diego and Cincinnati.

12/1/2013 5:57:00 PM
Description: New England running LeGarrette Blount led the team with 12 carries and 44 rushing yards Sunday against Houston. He also scored a seven-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Insight: Stevan Ridley was inactive after losing a fumble in three straight games and Blount took his place in the "big back" role. Brandon Bolden had just four touches. This is a fluid situation, however, so don't read too much into how Blount and Bolden were used this week. Shane Vereen is the only Patriots RB with a steady role at the moment.

10/6/2013 5:59:00 PM
Description: Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount rushed for 51 yards on 12 carries and lost a fumble Sunday at Cincinnati.
Insight: Blount was New England's lead back with Stevan Ridley sidelined, but he may have fumbled away his chance to vault Ridley on the depth chart. Blount saw just three carries in the second half.

10/6/2013 11:14:00 AM
Description: Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount could get 20-plus carries in Week 5 against the Bengals, reports ESPN's Bob Holtzman.
Insight: Blount should be started as a RB2 in 12-team leagues with Stevan Ridley inactive and Brandon Bolden dealing with a nagging knee injury.

10/4/2013 4:40:00 PM
Description: Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount should be a tired man after Sunday's game with Cincinnati as he's likely to get a majority of the workload.
Insight: Stevan Ridley missed practice all week and has been declared out for the game and Brandon Bolden was seen limping after Thursday's practice. Start if you own him.

4/27/2013 5:26:00 PM
Description: The Patriots have acquired running back LeGarrette Blount from the Buccaneers.
Insight: And all they had to give up was practice squad running back Jeff Demps and a seventh-round pick. It's a nice pickup for the Pats as Blount should be the team's preferred goal line back next season. He might also get some third down looks now that third-down specialist Danny Woodhead is with the Chargers.

4/22/2013 7:48:00 PM
Description: According to Tampa Bay Times reporter Stephen Holder, the Buccaneers could look to trade halfback LeGarrette Blount before this week's draft.
Insight: Doug Martin is the lead back in Tampa, which means that Blount is expendable. The former Oregon Duck went over the 1,000 yard mark as a rookie in 2010 but hasn't done much since then (151 yards on 41 carries last season).

10/23/2012 2:12:00 PM
Description: Tampa Bay running back LeGarrette Blount may have lost his goal line carries after failing three times against the Saints last weekend, according to Roy Cummings at the Tampa Tribune.
Insight: If Blount isn't going to get any red zone carries, his fantasy value will be near zero. At this point his only value will come as a handcuff to Doug Martin if an injury occurs.

10/9/2012 12:50:00 PM
Description: Coach Mike Shiano said Bucs running back LeGarrette Blount was practicing much better the last couple of week, according to Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times.
Insight: Blount has played second fiddle to rookie Doug Martin, but may be in line for a bigger share of the workload now that he appears to be in the coach's good graces. The rookie is averaging 3.5 ypc, while Blount in limited action is averaging 3.4 ypc.

9/13/2012 1:10:00 PM
Description: Injured Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount returned to practice on Thursday.
Insight: Blount suffered a stinger in Week 1's win over the Panthers. He should be fine to play on Sunday though he's of little value in fantasy now that rookie Doug Martin has claimed ownership of the team's starting halfback role. He ran the ball just three times for eight yards Sunday compared to Martin's 24 carries for 95 yards.

9/12/2012 1:40:00 PM
Description: Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount (neck, back) did not practice on Wednesday and will undergo an MRI.
Insight: Blount's absence would only enhance rookie Doug Martin's value in Week 2 against the Giants.

8/20/2012 12:38:00 PM
Description: Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount (groin) was back at practice on Monday, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
Insight: When you are fighting for your starting spot, there is no time to sit on the sidelines and heal. We still believe that rookie Doug Martin will win the majority of the workload by season's end, but at the start of the season he may share time with Blount.

8/18/2012 5:28:00 PM
Description: Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano said that running back LeGarrette Blount actually suffered a groin injury against the Titans, not a knee injury, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
Insight: Blount was holding his knee when he left the field Friday, but he seems to have escaped with a minor groin injury. Still, he may miss the team's third preseason game and is running out of time to impress the coaching staff.

8/17/2012 10:00:00 PM
Description: Buccaneers halfback LeGarrette Blount was carted off the field after suffering a left knee injury Friday night in Tampa Bay's preseason game versus Tennessee.
Insight: Blount was seen on the sidelines without ice or a knee brace following the injury, which is definitely a good sign. We should know more about the extent of Blount's injury after the game. He finished the evening with 11 yards on eight carries.

8/7/2012 5:51:00 PM
Description: After months of speculation that Doug Martin would be Tampa Bay's primary ballcarrier, LeGarrette Blount was listed as the No. 1 running back on the Buccaneers' first preseason depth chart Tuesday.
Insight: Both Martin and Blount have impressed in camp, but Martin has reportedly received most of the first-team reps (per team beat writers). We expect Martin to eclipse Blount on the depth chart sometime in the preseason.
