Police investigating ISU coach's shove

Pocatello, ID (Sports Network) - The Pocatello Police Department and Idaho State University's campus police continue to investigate whether Bengals head football coach Mike Kramer broke any laws with an alleged two-handed shove of a player during a practice two weeks ago.

ESPN's "Outside the Lines" program has aired video footage of an Oct. 3 incident in which Kramer apparently ran across the ISU field and pushed senior wide receiver Derek Graves to the ground by shoving him in the chest.

Graves told ESPN that Kramer, known for a fiery coaching style, was upset the receiver tried to face one of the team's veteran cornerbacks instead of a freshman during one-on-one drills.

The report said Graves filed a police report Sunday and hired an attorney. Graves added he has suffered from neck spasms since the incident.

Graves caught 36 passes in Idaho State's first four games, but has not played in the last two games.

University officials are not allowed to comment on personnel matters.
