GAME NOTES: On Monday night the Wright State Raiders will pay a visit to the Morehead State Eagles for a non-conference tilt at Ellis Johnson Arena.

Wright State enters play riding a short, two-game win streak after consecutive home victories over Alcorn State (73-55) and Western Carolina (85-77). The Raiders have won four of their last five games, and are currently holding a 5-3 overall record.

Morehead State is returning home after spending the last week tied up in the Las Vegas Invitational. The Eagles split their four contests in the event, with losses to UCLA (81-70) and Gardner-Webb (86-82 in overtime) and wins over Nevada (63-58) and Chattanooga (88-75). Those decisions put the Eagles at 6-3 overall.

These teams also met in the beginning of December last season, with Wright State claiming a 66-57 victory at home. The win pulled the Raiders closer in the all-time series, which Morehead State leads by a count of 6-5.

In their win over Western Carolina, the Raiders simply played the better all- around brand of basketball. Wright State hit on 49 percent of its shots from the field, including 8-of-16 from beyond the arc, while holding advantages on scoring in the paint (26-18) and off turnovers (20-13).

Balance has been the key for the Raiders this season as they are netting 76.2 points per game, despite having just a pair of double figure scorers, with none putting in more than AJ Pacher (11.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg). Pacher had a bit of an offensive eruption on Saturday as he scored 18 points to go with eight rebounds. Pacher is also the best option on the team in rebounds, an area the Raiders have had trouble with (30.8 pg). Miles Dixon (10.3 ppg) is the only other player averaging in double figures on the roster, but the Raiders have seven other players scoring at least five points per game.

Morehead State led by as many as 17 points against Gardner-Webb, but the Eagles allowed the Bulldogs to hit 60 percent of their shots from the floor in the second half, while being outscored 29-9 from the free-throw line after intermission.

The Eagles know a thing or two about balance themselves, with four different players scoring in double figures on the season. The top option is Angelo Warner (17.3 ppg), who is also a disruptive defender, posting up 2.6 steals per game. Warned finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and three steals against Gardner-Webb, but he also turned the ball over five times. Brent Arrington (12.0 ppg) is the second best option, while Chad Posthumus (10.8 ppg, 12.6 rpg) can score, but is more important for his contributions on the glass. Bakari Turner (10.4 ppg) provides the Eagles with a scorer to turn to on the second unit.

Playing at home has led to two wins in as many tries for the Eagles, who are facing a Wright State squad that doesn't travel well (0-3). Expect Morehead State to get back into the win column.
