Eastbourne semis postponed by rain

Eastbourne, England (Sports Network) - Friday's scheduled women's semifinal matches at the $618,000 Aegon International tennis event were postponed because of rain.

Fifth-seeded Czech Petra Kvitova will face in-form Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova, while sixth-seeded Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli will encounter seventh-seeded Aussie Samantha Stosur in the final four here on Saturday. The championship match will also be staged Saturday at Devonshire Park, the site of this final Wimbledon tuneup.

The lefthanded Kvitova is a three-time winner on the WTA this season and was a Wimbledon semifinalist last year. Hantuchova was a runner-up in Birmingham this past Monday and reached the final here in Eastbourne back in 2004. Bartoli was a 2007 Wimbledon finalist.

The 2011 Eastbourne champion will collect $103,000.
