Estoril, Portugal (Sports Network) - Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues and German Kristina Barrois will square off in Saturday's final at the $220,000 Estoril Open tennis event.
Medina Garrigues leveled Romanian Monica Niculescu 6-1, 6-3, while Barrois got past Swede Johanna Larsson 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 in Friday's semifinal action on the red clay at National Stadium.
The 28-year-old Medina Garrigues will appear in her 16th career WTA final, seeking a 10th championship. The Valencia native hasn't titled since 2009.
The 29-year-old Barrois has never titled on the WTA circuit. She was a runner- up in a final in Strasbourg last year in her only other career final.
Barrois is 1-0 lifetime against Medina Garrigues, with the victory coming in Strasbourg in 2009. Medina Garrigues is a three-time champion in Strasbourg.
Saturday's titlist will earn $37,000.
