Hradecka, Cermak capture French mixed title

Paris, France (Sports Network) - A Czech tandem of Lucie Hradecka and Frantisek Cermak captured the mixed doubles title Thursday at the French Open.

Hradecka and Cermak upset a fifth-seeded duo of Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic and Canadian veteran Daniel Nestor 1-6, 6-4, 10-6 in the final on Court Chatrier. The Czech pairing won four straight points for a 9-5 lead in the super tiebreak and clinched the title when Mladenovic netted a backhand volley.

Nestor was also a French mixed runner-up in 2006 and is a an eight-time Grand Slam men's doubles champion.

The 28-year-old Hradecka and 36-year-old Cermak were the mixed doubles runner- up at the Australian Open back in January. Hradecka captured the French women's doubles championship in 2011.

Hradecka and Cermak were presented with the Coupe Marcel Bernard and will split $137,000.
