Digao powers Fluminense past Criciuma
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Sports Network) - Defending Brazilian champions Fluminense got two first-half goals from Digao en route to a 3-0 victory over Criciuma on Sunday.
With two wins from its first two games, Fluminense sits just one point off the top of the league with a game in hand, while Criciuma has lost two of its first three games since earning promotion this season.
Digao scored the two goals nine minutes apart in the first half, and Wellington added another goal from the penalty spot 10 minutes from time to cap the victory.
Sao Paulo sits atop the table despite being held to a 0-0 draw at Atletico Mineiro after Denilson was sent off with 30 minutes to play.
