Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith (sprained ankle) admits to being sore, but practiced on Tuesday and is expected to play on Wednesday in Game 2 versus Indiana.
Insight: Smith obviously won't be 100 percent, but he is still likely to produce solid fantasy results. Smith is a box filler who averaged 17.5 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.2 spg, 1.8 bpg during the regular season.

4/22/2013 1:23:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith (sprained ankle) is listed as probable, but missed Monday's practice and there must be some concern for fantasy owners.

4/10/2013 9:59:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith notched his 29th double-double of the year Wednesday in a win over the Sixers.
Insight: Smith collected 28 points and 12 rebounds in 29 minutes of action. Smith is having a strong year across the board for the Hawks (17.4 ppg, 4.5 apg, 8.5 rpg, 1.8 bpg, 1.2 spg). His one area of weakness has been free throw shooting (51 percent), though he went 5-of-5 from that distance on Wednesday.

4/10/2013 11:20:00 AM
Description: Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith (knee) didn't play Saturday or practice Monday, but he returned to the court for Tuesday's practice and is expected to play against the Sixers on Wednesday, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Atlanta and fantasy owners need him back in the lineup as he's a box score filler. He's averaging 17.4 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.2 spg and 1.8 bpg.

4/6/2013 7:25:00 PM
Description: Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith (knee) will not play Saturday against the Spurs.
Insight: The Hawks are sitting multiple starters on Saturday. Ivan Johnson will start in his place.

3/15/2013 11:31:00 AM
Description: Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith (ankle) is probable for Friday's game against Phoenix after completing the morning shootaround.
Insight: Smith suffered the injury Tuesday against Miami and missed Wednesday's game. He's a fantasy stud who contributes across the board averaging 17.2 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.2 spg, 1.9 blocks per contest. He's a must start.

3/13/2013 6:17:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith is doubtful for Wednesday's game with a sprained left knee.
Insight: Smith suffered the injury Tuesday against Miami. The Hawks have announced their starting lineup as Devin Harris, Dahntay Jones, Anthony Tolliver, Al Horford and Johan Petro for Wednesday's game against the Lakers so we don't expect Smith to be out there.

2/24/2013 9:22:00 AM
Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith has played two games since the trade deadline passed without a deal and averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks.
Insight: If Smith is unhappy about not being dealt he isn't showing it. Besides, the Hawks forward is still playing for a new contract and can't afford to slack off over the final two months.

2/20/2013 10:35:00 PM
Description: In what may have been his final game as an Atlanta Hawk, forward Josh Smith collected 10 points, nine rebounds and nine assists Wednesday against the Heat.
Insight: If Smith's tenure with the Hawks is indeed over, the near triple-double he posted Wednesday night is a nice parting gift for the nine seasons he spent in Atlanta. Look for Smith updates early and often as the clock ticks down to Thursday afternoon's 3 pm trade deadline.

Insight: For now Smith (17.4 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 4.1 apg, 2.1 bpg) is still with the Hawks, but that could change quickly. The Bucks, Celtics, Nets and Suns are all said to be pursuing a trade for the soon-to-be free agent. Considering that Atlanta is unlikely to meet Smith's high salary demands this offseason, we're betting a deal gets done before Thursday's 3 pm deadline.

2/16/2013 3:51:00 PM
Description: Gery Woelfel of the Journal Times suggests that the Bucks could become involved in trade discussions for Hawks forward Josh Smith.
Insight: The Hawks have told Smith that they aren't going to offer him a max contract when he hits free agency this summer, leading to speculation that the star forward could be dealt before Thursday's trade deadline. Boston, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Houston, Milwaukee and Philadelphia have all been mentioned as possible landing spots for Smith (17.4 ppg, 4.1 apg, 8.6 rpg, 1.8 bpg).

Hot2/13/2013 9:32:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith continued his recent surge with 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists Wednesday against Orlando.
Insight: Smith only needed 30 minutes to reach these totals. He didn't commit a single foul or turnover. He's averaging 26.3 ppg, 9.7 rpg and 6.3 apg in his last three contests.

2/9/2013 10:30:00 AM
Description: TNT's David Aldridge hears that the Hawks won't sign Josh Smith to a max contract when he becomes a free agent this offseason.
Insight: That statement would lead many to believe that Smith's days in Atlanta are numbered including ESPN's Chris Broussard, who is setting the odds at 60 percent that Smith will be dealt prior to February 21st's trade deadline. Where there's smoke there's usually fire. Don't expect Smith (16.9 ppg, 8.5 rpg) to finish the season in an ATL uniform.

1/31/2013 8:02:00 PM
Description: Alex Kennedy of USA Today reports that the Suns are looking to make a deal for Hawks small forward Josh Smith.
Insight: It would be interesting to see Smith end up in Phoenix where he'd probably be asked to do most of the heavy lifting on offense. Smith is in the midst of another productive season, averaging 16.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg and 2.2 bpg in 42 appearances. As dominant as he's been in other areas, Smith's free-throw shooting still needs a lot of work (50.6 percent).

1/23/2013 9:24:00 PM
Description: With Al Horford and Zaza Pachulia both out, Josh Smith stepped up and scored 30 points on 15-of-24 shooting with 13 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks Wednesday versus the Bobcats.
Insight: Smith also turned the ball over seven times, but that's not that big of a deal considering his other production. The forward is averaging more than 16 points and eight rebounds and nearly four assists to go with more than one steal and two blocks per game.

1/18/2013 11:38:00 AM
Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith served his one-game suspension on Wednesday and should be back on the court filling the box score Friday versus Brooklyn.
Insight: The Hawk's best player was kicked out of Tuesday's practice which apparently led to the suspension. He apologized according to the report and hopefully this will be the end of it. Smith is averaging 16.5 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.3 spg and 2.3 bpg. He will be a free agent after the season and there is a chance Smith won't finish the year with the Hawks.

1/16/2013 11:58:00 AM
Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith will miss Wednesday's game against Brooklyn because of a one-game team-imposed suspension.
It's a blow to owners in almost every fantasy category.

1/14/2013 10:37:00 PM
Description: Hawks forward Josh Smith scored just nine points on 4-of-14 shooting in 27 minutes of play Monday versus Chicago and yet he almost led the team in scoring.
Insight: The Hawks were down 48-20 at the half and didn't play any starters more than 27 minutes and 29 seconds, possibly because they were playing their fifth game in seven days. Rarely used forward Mike Scott led the team with 10 points on Monday, meaning none of your Hawks did anything noteworthy.
