Coming off the bench for Cornell (1-0), Cressler shot a very impressive 6-of-8 from three-point range in his college debut. He was joined in double-figure scoring by Errick Peck who had 10 points and Galal Cancer, also coming off the bench, who tallied 10 on 5-of-7 shooting while adding a game-high seven assists. The Broncos (0-1) were unable to capitalize on the play of Shayne Whittington who registered a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Jared Klein was the only player for Western Michigan to join him in double- figure scoring with 12 points. Despite starting the game 1-of-13 shooting and converting a very poor 21.4 percent from the field, WMU went into halftime down only two points, 26-24. The second half was more active for both teams, with Cornell controlling the pace and outscoring the Broncos 37-31. The Big Red bench contributed 35 points, while WMU's reserves only put up 14.
