(Wednesday, February 27) Final Score: Texas-El Paso 63, Houston 53 El Paso, TX (Sports Network) - Behind John Bohannon's career-night of 24 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks, the Texas-El Paso Miners dismissed the Houston Cougars, 63-53, in Conference USA action at the Don Haskins Center. Bohannon shot 8-of-14 from the field and 8-of-10 from the foul line for UTEP (15-12, 8-5 C-USA), which had lost four of its previous five matchups. For Houston (15-11, 4-9), Joseph Young was the lone player in double figures, shooting 7-of-15 from the floor on his way to 23 points. The Cougars have now lost three straight games. UTEP shot only 34.4 percent from the field in the first half, but it held the Cougars to an even worse 28.6 percent, as it went into halftime with a comfortable 36-25 lead. Houston climbed back in the game after the break and made its deficit just two, 43-41, with 7:08 to play following a TaShawn Thomas jumper, but the Miners answered with a 12-5 run to put the game out of reach.
