Description: Randall Delgado will serve as Arizona's fifth starter to begin the season.
Insight: Patrick Corbin's season-ending elbow injury helped Delgado win the spot behind Wade Miley, Trevor Cahill, Brandon McCarthy and Bronson Arroyo. Delgado will need to pitch well to keep top prospect Archie Bradley from taking his job. He had a strong 1.78 BB/9 and a 1.19 WHIP last year but gave up 1.86 HR/9 and had a 4.26 ERA. He doesn't have much mixed league value.

Description: Diamondbacks starter Randall Delgado limited Toronto to four hits and three runs over seven innings in a no decision Wednesday.
Insight: Since joining the rotation in June, Delgado has gone 4-5 with a solid 3.57 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP in 95 2/3 innings.

Description: Arizona pitcher Randall Delgado walked four batters over 5 2/3 innings Sunday at San Francisco, but he only allowed three hits and didn't give up a run to win the game.
Insight: Delgado has flirted with disaster this season, allowing 55 hits and seven homers in 44 2/3 innings, but he only walked five batters in 39 innings prior to Sunday's game. He's 2-3 with a 3.43 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP.

Description: Arizona pitcher Randall Delgado earned his first win with the Diamondbacks Wednesday against the New York Mets.
Insight: Delgado has allowed two earned runs and thrown at least six innings in three of his four starts since joining the rotation and has a 25/4 K/BB in 27 innings this season. With Brandon McCarthy and Trevor Cahill on the DL and prospect Tyler Skaggs not an option after posting a 5.40 ERA in three starts this season, Delgado should remain in the rotation for now.

Description: In his first start of the 2013 season, Diamondbacks hurler Randall Delgado allowed two runs on eight hits and struck out six with zero walks over seven innings Tuesday agaisnt the Marlins.
Insight: Delgado, a former Braves pitching prospect, was traded from Atlanta to Arizona in the Justin Upton trade. While Ian Kennedy will miss and a start due to suspension and Brandon McCarthy is still on the DL, the D-Backs have enough days off in the next week that Delgado might only get one more start before being returned to the bullpen or minors.

Description: Braves starter Randall Delgado held Miami to one run on two hits in 6 1/3 innings to improve to 4-5. He walked one and struck out seven.
Insight: Delgado has improved his performance since starting out 2-2 with a 6.30 ERA. In his last seven starts, Delgado has gone 2-3 with 3.27 ERA. He has some NL-only league value.
5/3/2012 4:09:00 PM
Description: Randall Delgado had his best start of the season on Thursday afternoon, hurling eight innings and allowing two runs on six hits with five strikeouts against the Phillies. However, he took the loss as Joe Blanton fired a three-hit shutout.
Insight: Delgado, and Blanton for that matter, took advantage of a tired offense that had played an 11-inning game the night before. With Jair Jurrjens and prospect Julio Teheran expected to rejoin the Braves' rotation at some point this season, Delgado is not long for Atlanta's starting five.
4/2/2012 3:28:00 PM
Description: Randall Delgado will be the Atlanta's fifth starter after the Braves sent Julio Teheran to Triple A Gwinnett.
Insight: Delgado wasn't great, but Teheran was horrible. Delgado should get three or four starts to prove his worth before Tim Hudson returns to the rotation.
