5/19/2013 9:31:00 AM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia is just 2-for-20 (.100) against Yankees starter CC Sabathia.
Insight: Arencibia is tied for ninth in the majors with 10 homers, but his 52/2 K/BB is atrocious. Keep him on the bench Sunday.

5/17/2013 9:53:00 AM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia is 7-for-15 (.467) against Yankees right-hander Hiroki Kuroda with a 1.267 OPS.
Insight: Arencibia (.236, 10 HR, 20 RBI) is producing solid power numbers, but still hitting for a low average. This is a favorable matchup that should work to his advantage.

5/11/2013 9:39:00 AM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia is hitless in 14 at-bats with four strikeouts against Boston starter Clay Buchholz.
Insight: Arencibia (.252, 9 HR, 18 RBI) is producing power numbers, but not against Buchholz.

5/9/2013 1:14:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia won't be of use to any fantasy owners Thursday against Tampa Bay lefty David Price.
Insight: He's managed just one hit in 13 at bats versus the 2012 AL Cy Young winner. If possible, Arencibia (.252, 9 HR, 18 RBI) should be avoided on Thursday.

5/1/2013 10:44:00 AM
Description: Toronto catcher J.P. Arencibia is hitless in 11 at-bats versus Boston right-hander Clay Buchholz.
Insight: This matchup should be avoided. Arencibia has hit eight homers this season, but he needs to be a bit more selective at the plate as his 37 strikeouts and two walks would indicate.

4/27/2013 9:42:00 AM
Description: Toronto catcher J.P. Arencibia is just 2-for-16 (.125) against Yankees left-hander C.C. Sabathia

Hot4/24/2013 5:39:00 PM
Description: Toronto catcher J.P. Arencibia hit his AL-leading eighth home run as part of a 3-for-5 game Wednesday against the Orioles.
Insight: Arencibia's K/BB is 32/2, so even his .268 average is too high. Enjoy the power, but expect the catcher to dip into the .230s eventually.

Hot4/21/2013 5:33:00 PM
Description: Toronto catcher J.P. Arencibia smashed his seventh home run of the season Sunday in a win over New York.
Insight: He's left the yard four times in his last seven games. Arencibia's 434-foot bomb Sunday tied him with Chris Davis and Mark Reynolds for the most in the American League.

4/20/2013 9:59:00 AM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia is 6-for-9 (.667) with three extra base hits against Yankees starter Hiroki Kuroda.
Insight: Arencibia is hitting .265 with six homers and 11 RBI in 16 games. He owns a solid .869 OPS, but needs to show a little more patience (one walk this season). He hit 23 home runs in 443 at-bats in 2011 and 18 in 347 at-bats last year.

Hot4/16/2013 10:17:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia belted his fifth home run of the season Tuesday against the White Sox.
Insight: With a 19/1 K/BB, Arencibia is lucky to be hitting .269, but he has 25-homer pop. He hit 23 home runs in 443 at-bats in 2011 and 18 in 347 at-bats last year.

Hot4/10/2013 7:42:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia had a go-ahead three-run double in the seventh inning Wednesday against the Tigers.
Insight: Arencibia went 2-for-5 in the game and is 10-for-32 with three homers, four doubles and seven RBIs. However, he also has a 13/1 K/BB and won't hit above .240 this season.

Hot4/7/2013 10:11:00 AM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia is 7-for-19 with six extra-base hits (3 HR) through five games, but he'll have an unfavorable matchup Sunday against Jon Lester.
Insight: Arencibia has 15 career homers and a .239 average in 213 at-bats against left-handers compared to .220 against righties but he has never been able to figure out Lester. He is 5-for-26 (.192) with 12 strikeouts against the Red Sox left-hander, though he does have two home runs and five RBIs off him.

Hot4/6/2013 6:14:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia hit his third home run of the season Saturday against Boston.

4/3/2013 6:39:00 PM
Description: J.P. Arencibia won't be catching the next time R.A. Dickey pitches. SOURCE: Enrique Rojas, ESPN Deportes
Insight: That means that Henry Blanco will be the catcher Sunday against Boston. This fix might only be temporary as there's no guarantee that Blanco will be more successful at catching the knuckleball than Arencibia was on Tuesday (three passed balls).

4/2/2013 12:46:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia is expected to catch R.A. Dickey - at least at the start of the season.
Insight: Originally, Arencibia was going to sit and backup Henry Blanco was going to catch Dickey every fifth day. Then Arencibia did well catching Dickey at the WBC and it now appears that he'll catch him in the regular season. More at-bats for Arencibia is a good thing for fantasy owners as Blanco has zero fantasy value.

Hot9/28/2012 1:00:00 PM
