Description: Royals pitcher Danny Duffy, along with Jason Vargas and Jeremy Guthrie, will be available out of the bullpen for Game 1 of the ALCS on Friday.

Description: Royals left-hander Danny Duffy allowed one runon four hits over 6 2/3 innings in a no decision Tuesday against the Twins.

Hot6/19/2014 5:48:00 PM
Description: Royals left-hander Danny Duffy has allowed five runs on 14 hits with a 23/6 K/BB in 25 2/3 innings this month.
Insight: Duffy (4-6, 2.80 ERA, 1.05 WHIP) allowed two runs on three hits in seven innings Thursday at Detroit. The 25-year-old former top-100 prospect is starting to live up to his potential after being derailed by Tommy John surgery in 2012.
Hot6/19/2014 11:46:00 AM
Description: Royals left-hander Danny Duffy doesn't have a winning record this season (4-5), but he's pitching very well of late.
Insight: Duffy has posted a 1.45 ERA, 0.857 WHIP and 18 Ks in 18.2 IP in his last three starts, winning two of them. With the Royals on fire, winning 10 straight, Duffy is an excellent option on Thursday.
6/14/2014 5:17:00 PM
Description: Royals left-hander Danny Duffy struck out nine batters in seven shutout innings Saturday against the White Sox.
Insight: In eight starts this season, Duffy has gone 3-4 with a 2.96 ERA and a 31/19 K/BB in 45 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old will have a tough matchup at Detroit his next time out.

Description: Royals left-hander Danny Duffy was perfect for 6 2/3 innings before allowing a single to Adam Jones.
Insight: Duffy finished with seven scoreless innings of two-hit ball with two strikeouts and zero walks. The young left-hander has Tommy John surgery in 2012 and made just five appearances last year, but he's allowed just two runs on six hits in 17 innings since he took over for the injured Bruce Chen in the rotation.
3/23/2014 12:52:00 PM
Description: Royals left-hander Danny Duffy will begin the year in the minors.
Insight: Duffy lost the fifth spot in the rotation to Yordano Ventura. The hard-throwing Duffy's career was been set back by Tommy John surgery, but he returned to post a 1.85 ERA and 22 Ks in 24 1/3 innings last season. He'll be the first pitcher called up if Kansas City needs an injury replacement in the rotation.

Insight: Duffy struck out seven and didn't walk a batter Wednesday. He has given up just six hits and no runs over 12 2/3 innings. With Wade Davis finally moved to the bullpen, the 24-year-old Duffy should have a spot in the rotation going forward. Fantasy owners in deeper leagues should take a flyer on him.

Description: Royals left-hander Danny Duffy allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings Friday afternoon at Detroit in Game 1 of a doubleheader.

Duffy was drafted in the third round in 2007 and was 2-2 with a 3.90 ERA and a 9.11 K/9 last season before the injury.
5/14/2012 7:57:00 PM
Description: Danny Duffy has suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow. The Royals have placed Duffy on the disabled list.
Insight: Duffy (2-2, 3.90 ERA in six starts) will likely undergo Tommy John surgery to repair the damage to his elbow. We wouldn't expect to see Duffy in uniform again this season.
5/13/2012 6:38:00 PM
Description: Danny Duffy left Sunday's start in the first inning with elbow tightness.
Insight: The lefty starter had to miss a start in April due to the same issue. The hard-throwing Duffy has struck out 27 batters in 27 innings this season, but his high WHIP (1.59) leaves something to be desired. Hopefully this tightness in his elbow is not something more severe, like ligament damage.

4/22/2012 6:10:00 PM
Description: Royals starter Danny Duffy was roughed up by Toronto on Sunday. The 23-year-old gave up four runs on five hits with five walks in 4 2/3 innings.
Insight: Duffy had pitched well in his first two starts, striking out 15 in 12 2/3 innings with a 2.13 ERA before Sunday. Duffy's fastball touches 95 mph, so he remains an intriguing young starter.
