Description: Dodgers infielders Nick Punto is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels with a bruised back.

Description: Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports expects Dodgers infielders Nick Punto and Juan Uribe to be dealt during the offseason.
Insight: Skip Schumaker's arrival as the team's new utility infielder eliminates any need for Punto (.219, 1 HR, 10 RBI) and Uribe (.191, 2 HR, 17 RBI) going forward. We wouldn't expect either player to have any fantasy significance in 2013.

Description: Nick Punto got the start again for the Red Sox on Tuesday, this time at shortstop for Mike Aviles, who twisted his ankle in Monday's win over the Blue Jays.
Insight: Punto started Sunday in place of struggling Kevin Youkilis and played pretty well (3-6 with 3 RBIs). Even if Punto keeps up at this clip, we don't envision him turning into an everyday player for the Sox unless Youkilis or Aviles miss significant time because of injuries.
4/8/2012 6:22:00 PM
Description: Nick Punto had three hits batting out of the leadoff spot in Sunday's loss to the Tigers.
Insight: Punto's single in the 11th inning would have been the game-winner had Mark Melancon been able to hold on to a two-run lead in the bottom half of the inning. Punto got the start at third base over the slumping Kevin Youkilis (0-8 this season).

Insight: He will replace Brendan Ryan on the roster as a utility infielder that is better with the glove than the bat. Don't expect much more than a few stolen bases. He could play a little more in April while David Freese comes back from injury.

Description: Kelly Thesier of reports the Twins have declined Punto's $5 million option for 2011.
