Description: O's righthander Chris Tillman became the AL's second 15-game winner by beating the Red Sox Thursday night at Fenway.
Insight: He's still miles behind Max Scherzer for the league-lead but for a guy who had never won more than nine games in a season before this year, Tillman (7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 8 K's Thursday at Boston) has done pretty well for himself. If Baltimore makes the postseason, Tillman deserves to be the Orioles' Game 1 starter.

Description: American League manager Jim Leyland has chosen Baltimore starter Chris Tillman as Justin Verlander's replacement for next week's All-Star Game at Citi Field.
Insight: Verlander started Sunday against Texas so he won't be available. New York's Hiroki Kuroda (2.65 ERA, 1.05 WHIP in 118 1/3 innings) would appear to be a much more deserving candidate but Leyland went with Tillman because of his record (11-3 in 19 starts). This will be Tillman's first appearance in the Midsummer Classic.
