Description: The Blue Jays' goal for Josh Johnson (triceps) will start his rehab assignment Monday with High-A Dunedin, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca.

Description: The Blue Jays' goal for Josh Johnson (triceps) will need one more long-toss session after Tuesday before he gets back on a mound, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca.
Insight: Johnson is dealing with inflammation in his triceps. He long tossed Tuesday and could go out on a minor league rehab assignment if he feels good following his second session. He'll need two rehab starts before he can rejoin the big league club, however, so it's likely we won't see him back until the end of May at the earliest.

Insight: Johnson is dealing with inflammation in his triceps. Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos said that the right-hander will likely need two rehab starts before returning.

Description: The Blue Jays have placed Josh Johnson on the 15-day disabled list with a triceps injury.
Insight: Johnson's MRI showed no structural damage, only inflammation, according to John Lott of the National Post, but he felt discomfort while playing catch Wednesday. Ricky Romero will be recalled from High-A after making just one start down there.

Description: Toronto righthander Josh Johnson will have an MRI on his injured triceps. SOURCE: Shi Davidi, Sportsnet
Insight: The results should determine whether or not Johnson will need to go on the disabled list. Aaron Laffey will occupy Johnson's spot in the rotation until he's healthy again.

4/26/2013 1:36:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays starter Josh Johnson (0-1) has been scratched from Friday's start against the Yankees due to tightness in his right triceps.
Insight: Johnson has been ugly in his first four starts accumulating a 6.86 ERA and 1.88 WHIP. He's still averaging a strikeout an inning, but all his other peripherals are hurting fantasy owners.

4/16/2013 10:23:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays starter Josh Johnson bounced back from the shortest outing of his career with seven strong innings Tuesday against the White Sox.
Insight: Johnson gave up seven hits and six runs in 1 1/3 innings his last time out and 16 hits over his first two starts, but he held Chicago to four hits and three runs, walked two and struck out eight Tuesday night.

4/11/2013 7:52:00 PM
Description: Blue Jays starter Josh Johnson gave up seven hits, two walks and six earned in just 1 1/3 innings Thursday against Detroit.
Insight: It was the shortest outing of his career. Johnson has allowed 16 hits in 7 1/3 innings through two starts and is clearly no longer the dominating presence he was back in 2009, 2010 and 2011. However, remember that he started off last season by allowing 47 hits and 23 runs in his first 31 1/3 innings (6.61 ERA), but gave up 133 hits and 58 runs in 160 innings (3.26 ERA) the rest of the way.

11/13/2012 8:43:00 PM
Description: According to sources, the Marlins and Blue Jays have agreed on a blockbuster trade to send Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, Emilio Bonifacio and John Buck to Toronto for a package including Yunel Escobar, Adeiny Hechavarria, Justin Nicolino, Henderson Alvarez, Jacob Marisnick, Jeff Mathis and Anthony DeSclafani. SOURCE: Ken Rosenthal, FoxSports.com
Insight: Johnson had an up-and-down season amid trade rumors in 2012, going 8-14 with a 3.81 ERA and 165 strikeouts in 191 1/3 innings. While a power pitcher like Johnson can certainly succeed in going from the National League to the American League, his performance may hinge on whether or not he can reverse the decline of his average fastball velocity.

10/1/2012 11:46:00 AM
Description: Miami starter Josh Johnson will not make his scheduled start Monday versus New York.
Insight: The Marlins have already been eliminated from the postseason so this upcoming series against the Mets essentially means nothing. With Miami opting to give their ace the night off, Wade LeBlanc (2-5, 3.96 ERA) will fill in to make his ninth start of the season for the last-place Marlins.

Hot9/6/2012 4:35:00 PM
Description: Marlins righthander Josh Johnson turned in a solid performance Thursday against the Brewers, allowing just two runs and four hits over seven innings.
Insight: It's been an up and down year for Johnson (8-11, 3.81 ERA) though he has been solid in his last couple of outings, compiling a 1.80 ERA during that span.

7/27/2012 9:17:00 PM
Description: With Zack Greinke now off the market, the Rangers have turned their focus to acquiring Miami righthander Josh Johnson.
Insight: The Marlins are reportedly seeking a king's ransom for the two-time All-Star so it remains to be seen whether or not the two sides will be able to work out a deal before Tuesday's deadline.

7/23/2012 9:05:00 PM
Description: Miami starter Josh Johnson left Monday's start due to skin irritation on his right middle finger, according to Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post.
Insight: The Marlins were likely trying to prevent a full blister from developing on Johnson's finger. The news is unfortunate, as the right-hander was in the midst of his best start of the season, shutting out Atlanta on one hit with nine strikeouts and zero walks over six innings.

Hot6/23/2012 4:38:00 PM
Description: Miami ace Josh Johnson held Toronto to one run in seven innings in a no decision Saturday.
Insight: Johnson has finally pushed his ERA south of 4.00 for the first time this season. The right-hander has a 2.56 ERA in his last nine starts after posting a 6.61 in his first six.

Hot6/11/2012 10:25:00 PM
Description: Miami ace Josh Johnson was phenomenal Monday evening in a win over the Red Sox. He surrendered only one run and four hits in seven innings of work. Johnson recorded seven strikeouts while walking just one.
Insight: Johnson (3-4, 4.27 ERA) seems to be getting better with each month. In April, Johnson's ERA was 5.34 and he finished May with an ERA of 4.41. So far in June, he's trimmed his ERA all the way down to 1.84.

5/20/2012 4:10:00 PM
Description: Josh Johnson won his second straight start on Sunday after giving up one run on five hits in seven innings against the Indians.
Insight: Johnson seems to have things turned around now. He's thrown seven innings in each of his last three starts after doing that just once in his first six. Over his last three turns, Johnson has lowered his ERA from 6.61 to 4.82.

5/5/2012 1:34:00 PM
Description: Josh Johnson was battered again on Friday, giving up six runs on six hits and three walks in 2 2/3 innings against the San Diego Padres.
Insight: After a rough start to the season, Johnson looked to be back on track with two solid outings, but he's followed those up by giving up 10 runs on 16 hits in eight innings over his last two turns. He's surrendered 47 hits in just 31 1/3 innings this season as opponents are hitting .359 against him. According to the Miami Herald, Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen speculated that Johnson might not be completely healthy.

4/24/2012 9:29:00 PM
Description: Josh Johnson tossed 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball against the Mets on Tuesday, striking out nine and giving up three hits. However, he failed to get the win when he and three relievers combined to surrender four straight two-out walks in the bottom of the seventh, allowing the Mets to tie the score 1-1.
Insight: Johnson looks like he's back on the right track after a terrible start. After giving up 21 hits and nine runs in his first 9 2/3 innings, Johnson has given up 10 and three runs in his last 13 2/3 while striking out 12.

4/22/2012 4:44:00 PM
Description: Josh Johnson was scheduled to start on Sunday against the Nationals but instead the game was rained out. He'll pitch on Tuesday against the Mets instead.
Insight: Johnson was pretty shaky in his first two starts but he looked like the Josh Johnson of old against the Cubs last Tuesday (7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 3 Ks). The Mets, who were also rained out today, will start Johan Santana (0-2, 3.97 ERA) on Tuesday.
