Description: Free agent SP Mark Prior wants one more shot at pitching in the major leagues and is working out in San Diego in hopes of getting an invitation to try out this spring.
Insight: We haven't seen Prior in the big leagues since 2006, but when he was healthy he owned dominant stuff. Don't expect anything to come of this.

Description: Mark Prior has been lights out for Triple-A Pawtucket this season. In eight innings for the Paw Sox, Prior has allowed just two runs on four hits with 19 strikeouts and five walks.
Insight: Opponents are hitting a mere .143 against Prior this season. We haven't seen Prior in the big leagues since 2006, but if the Red Sox can't land Matt Garza or Ryan Dempster before the trade deadline, promoting Prior to the majors could be a possibility for the Red Sox.

5/2/2012 8:17:00 PM
Description: Former Chicago ace Mark Prior has agreed to a deal with the Boston Red Sox.
Insight: Prior is at least six years removed from the prime of his career and we'd consider him a longshot to achieve anything fantasy worthy in 2012.

4/15/2012 4:12:00 PM
Description: Mark Prior worked out for the Red Sox Saturday at their spring training facility in Fort Myers, Florida.
Insight: Prior hasn't pitched in the majors in six years so we're not not anticipating much will come from this.

Description: Yankees manager Joe Girardi was on the field to watch an early-morning mound session turned in Tuesday by right-hander Mark Prior, who is trying to revive his big league career after repeated injury setbacks, according to MLB.com.
Insight: A return from injury will be a long shot for Prior, who hasn't pitched in a major league game since 2006. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: ESPN reports that Prior has been working hard and threw off of a mound recently.
Insight: Prior has not pitched in the majors since 2006 and needs to prove he can remain healthy before he signs a contract. (SportsBuff.com)
