Saturday night when the Phoenix Suns visit the Minnesota Timberwolves at the
The Suns snapped a 10-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 102-91 road
victory over the Dallas Mavericks. The win also halted a seven-game losing
streak away from home.
"Tonight, I think the guys responded really well in the back-to-back, and
they're (Mavs) a pretty good team out there fighting for a playoff spot
possibly and our guys responded and played well," said interim head coach
After losing in Houston on Tuesday night when Jermaine O'Neal was whistled for
goaltending on a last-second 3-pointer from James Harden, this was a great win
for the Suns, who have the worst record in the Western Conference.
Goran Dragic led the way with 21 points and 13 assists. Luis Scola and P.J.
Tucker had double-doubles and Wesley Johnson and Markieff Morris both scored
in double figures.
The Suns finish off the regular season with a home game against the Rockets on
Monday, then visit the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
The Timberwolves lost their third in a row on Friday with a 107-100 setback to
the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.
Six Minnesota players scored in double figures, led by 23 from J.J. Barea.
Derrick Williams, Greg Stiemsma, Luke Ridnour, Ricky Rubio and Chase Budinger
all cracked the 10-point mark.
Minny was terrible on defense, allowing the Jazz to shoot 58 percent. The
T'Wolves also couldn't handle Al Jefferson on Friday. The big man went for 40
points on 19-for-27 shooting.
"He made a lot of shots, but yes, he is physical," Minnesota coach Rick
Adelman said of Jefferson. "Al made a lot of jump shots tonight, too. He faced
up and knocked down shots."
Minnesota hosts the Jazz on Monday, then visits the San Antonio Spurs on
Wednesday night to close this disappointing, injury-ravaged season.
The Wolves have taken two of three this season against the Suns, including a
111-107 victory in Minnesota, which snapped a six-game home losing streak in
