Pelicans waive Lance Thomas
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Pelicans waived forward Lance Thomas on Wednesday.
Thomas appeared in 59 contests with nine starts last season and averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds.
The Duke product played 101 games (19 starts) over two seasons with New Orleans, averaging 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds.
New Orleans also renounced its rights to guards Roger Mason, Jr. and Xavier Henry and forward Louis Amundson, all currently unrestricted free agents.
Mason spent most of last season in New Orleans' rotation and averaged 5.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists over 69 games, 13 of which were starts.
Henry, the 12th overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft by Memphis, averaged just 3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 12.5 minutes over 50 games last season, the former Kansas standout's second in New Orleans.
Amundson was signed by New Orleans in March, with the journeyman averaging 2.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 11.7 minutes over 18 contests.
