Description: Pittsburgh first baseman Gaby Sanchez will be the cleanup hitter Thursday night and play first base.
Insight: Sanchez hasn't done much this season, batting .225 with five homers and 20 RBI this season, but he should at least get some RBI chances batting in the middle of the order.

Description: Pittsburgh first baseman Gaby Sanchez will be thge DH on Thursday as the Pirates visit Baltimore.
Insight: This will be just the second time he's been a DH since entering the league in 2008. Sanchez is batting .220 with three homers and seven RBI this season. He's normally a much better hitter versus left-handers, though he's 2-for-7 (.286) against Bud Norris.

Description: Pittsburgh first baseman Gaby Sanchez is 6-for-12 with a home run versus Seattle starter Joe Saunders.
Insight: Sanchez is pounding left-handers to the tune of a .320 batting average with a 1.065 OPS. He is coming off back-to-back two-hit games and this favorable matchup makes him a must start.

4/25/2013 4:47:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh first baseman Gaby Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs Thursday afternoon against the Phillies.
Insight: Sanchez is 10-for-36 (.278) with three homers and 11 RBIs as part of a first-base platoon with Garrett Jones. Jones is hitting .298 with 11 RBIs and has taken just two at-bats against left-handed pitchers this season.

4/23/2013 10:28:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh first baseman Gaby Sanchez has homered in each of his last two starts.
Insight: Sanchez made the NL All-Star team in 2011 but he hit just .202 with the Marlins last season before being dealt with Pittsburgh, where he batted .241 in 116 at-bats. He's hitting .258 with two homers, eight RBIs and a 7/6 K/BB in 31 at-bats.

8/11/2012 6:47:00 PM
Description: Pittsburgh first baseman Gaby Sanchez will have the night off Saturday against San Diego.
Insight: Sanchez (.202, 3 HR, 17 RBI) disappointed in Miami earlier this season but he has played well so far as a Pirate (.350 in eight games) and might be worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues.

7/31/2012 3:31:00 PM
Description: The Marlins have traded 2011 All-Star first baseman Gaby Sanchez to the Pirates.
Insight: Sanchez has had a terrible 2012 after hitting 19 homers in each of the last two seasons. It is unknown how much playing time he'll receive with Garrett Jones also at first base in Pittsburgh.

7/5/2012 11:28:00 AM
Description: Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez was demoted to Triple-A to make room for Carlos Lee.
Insight: Sanchez hit a key home run and lifted his average over .200 for the first time since June 11 Wednesday, and his reward was a demotion as Lee took his roster spot and his starting first base job.

Cold6/25/2012 6:57:00 PM
Description: Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez will not start Miami's series opener against the Cardinals on Monday.
Insight: Sanchez (.195, 2 HRs, 16 RBIs) is hitting just .190 with one homer and five RBIs since being recalled from Triple-A New Orleans two weeks ago.

6/10/2012 12:17:00 PM
Description: Miami first baseman Gaby Sanchez is a good hitter against James Shields. He's 5-10 lifetime with a homer and four RBIs versus the Tampa Bay righthander.
Insight: Shields (6-4, 4.27 ERA) has lost three out of his last four starts so Sanchez (.197, 1 HR, 11 RBIs) has to like his chances today.

6/10/2012 10:20:00 AM
Description: The Marlins have recalled first baseman Gaby Sanchez from Triple-A New Orleans. Sanchez will start at first and bat sixth Sunday against Tampa Bay.
Insight: Sanchez struggled mightily at the major league level earlier in the year (.197, 1 HRs, 11 RBIs) but he seems to have found his stroke again after a productive 19-game stint in Triple-A (.310, 3 HRs, 10 RBIs). Sanchez went 4-4 with a homer and four RBIs and reached base in all five of his plate appearances Saturday against the Astros' Triple-A affiliate, the Oklahoma City RedHawks.

Cold5/19/2012 8:42:00 PM
Description: Gaby Sanchez was sent down to Triple-A by the Marlins after he went 0-for-3 against the Indians on Saturday.
Insight: Sanchez has been horrible this season, batting .197 with one home run. He made the All-Star team last season, but since the 2011 All-Star break he's hit .215 with seven homers in 353 at-bats.

Cold5/18/2012 5:35:00 PM
Description: Gaby Sanchez won't be in the Marlins' starting lineup Friday night against the Indians.
Insight: As far as we know, Sanchez isn't hurt, so consider this a routine day off. Sanchez is barely hitting over the Mendoza line this year (.205) and he only has one homer in 117 at bats. Sanchez is owned in just 35.2 percent of fantasy leagues, so his value is pretty low right now.

Cold5/12/2012 11:03:00 AM
Description: Miami first baseman Gaby Sanchez apparently likes hitting the knuckleball as he's a career .333 hitter against Mets starter R.A. Dickey with a 1.103 OPS.
Insight: Sanchez has posted 19 HR in each of the past two seasons, but has just one in the first 29 games and is struggling with a .190 batting average. Perhaps a few at-bats against Dickey can get him started.

4/19/2012 10:58:00 AM
Description: Gaby Sanchez will get the day off Thursday against Chicago.
Insight: Sanchez had one of his best hitting performances of the year (3-5, 2B, 1 RBI) Wednesday in a 9-1 win over the Cubs. Sanchez still hasn't homered and his average is only .244 but it looks like he is heading in the right direction.

Cold4/8/2012 11:58:00 AM
Description: Miami first baseman Gaby Sanchez is expected to sit on Sunday. He's not hurt, just getting a day of rest.
Insight: Sanchez is off to a slow start, batting just .091 (1-for-11) through the first three games. He's been a faily productive fantasy player over the past two season, averaging 19 HR and 81 RBI.
