Description: Giants starter Tim Hudson could not best Clayton Kershaw, throwing five 1/3 frames and allowing three runs on five hits.
Insight: Hudson struck out four and walked one in another below average start for the right hander. Hudson has pitched awful in September, going 0-4 with a 9.92 ERA. The 39-year-old has been complaining about a sore hip in the last week, and since before the month started, Hudson's season ERA was 2.90, it is not inconceivable to believe his hip as been bothering him all month.

Cold9/14/2014 10:46:00 AM
Description: Giants right-hander Tim Hudson lasted one inning, yielding six runs on eight hits to the Dodgers on Saturday.
Insight: Hudson did not walk anyone, so he had that going for him, which is nice. Even still, the outing was his worst of the season. Hudson has lost his last two starts and his ERA has risen to 3.41. He has not won since Aug. 22.

Cold7/5/2014 11:52:00 AM
Description: Giants right-hander Tim Hudson hasn't been his sharpest of late, limping into Saturday's start against San Diego with an 0-3 record and 6.38 ERA in his last three starts.
Insight: The good news for Hudson (7-5, 2.59 ERA) owners is that he'll be pitching at Petco Park. The bad news is that after lowering his ERA to 1.81 through 13 starts, he's been shaky in two of his last three, including two weeks ago against the Padres in a game where he allowed six runs (four earned) over 5 2/3 innings.

6/29/2014 6:53:00 PM
Description: Giants right-hander Tim Hudson gave up two runs on five hits over eight innings Sunday against the Reds, but he took a tough-luck loss.
Insight: Hudson (7-5, 2.59 ERA) gave up 11 earned runs on 21 hits over 10 1/3 innings his previous two starts, so fantasy owners should be content with Sunday's performance despite the loss.

Cold6/25/2014 10:15:00 AM
Description: Giants right-hander Tim Hudson has allowed 11 earned runs on 21 hits over 10 1/3 innings his last two starts.
Insight: Hudson has a 1.81 ERA before that, but it increased to 2.62 after he gave up six runs (four earned) over 5 2/3 innings against the lowly Padres Tuesday night. He still has a 1.11 WHIP due to a 1.44 BB/9. He'll take on the Reds at home in his next start.

6/18/2014 6:36:00 PM
Description: San Francisco right-hander Tim Hudson had his worst start of the year Wednesday against the White Sox.
Insight: Hudson gave up 12 hits (2 HR) and seven runs in 4 2/3 innings. Hudson had allowed seven earned runs combined in his previous 43 2/3 innings and 18 in his first 89 1/3 innings this season.

Hot6/12/2014 9:35:00 PM
Description: San Francisco right-hander Tim Hudson had an outstanding game Thursday against Washington.
Insight: He held the Nats to one run (it was unearned) over seven innings. Hudson, the National League's current ERA leader at 1.81, hasn't lost since May 6th against Pittsburgh. That was seven starts ago.

6/1/2014 9:36:00 PM
Description: Tim Hudson was dealing Sunday against the Cardinals (7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 6 K's, 2 BB).
Insight: He hasn't given up a run in his last two starts. If Hudson's dominance carries over into the second half of the season he could be a candidate for the National League Cy Young Award.

Hot5/28/2014 9:19:00 AM
Description: Giants starter Tim Hudson scattered six hits and allowed zero runs in seven innings Tuesday against the Cubs.
Insight: Hudson is now 5-2 with a 1.92 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP. He's walked just six batters and allowed four home runs in 70 1/3 innings this season. Opponents have a .584 OPS against him.

5/20/2014 5:26:00 PM
Description: Giants RHP Tim Hudson (hip) said he's ready to start Thursday after throwing a bullpen session on Tuesday, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Insight: Hudson was scratched from his last start due to a strained hip. The 38-year-old is 4-2 with a 2.09 ERA and a 0.81 WHIP this season. He's walked just four batters in 60 1/3 innings.

Insight: Yusmeiro Petit (2-1, 4.85 ERA) is filling in for him. The injury isn't considered serious so Hudson (4-2, 2.09 ERA) should be able to make his next start Thursday against the Rockies.

Hot5/6/2014 9:55:00 PM
Description: Giants starter Tim Hudson threw a complete game in Tuesday's loss at Pittsburgh.
Insight: Hudson allowed a triple to Starling Marte with two outs in the ninth, and Marte scored on a throwing error by second baseman Ehire Adrianza to end the game. Hudson gave up two earned runs on five hits in 8 2/3 innings and is 4-2 with a 1.99 ERA and a 0.74 WHIP. The right-hander has thrown seven or more innings in all seven starts this season.

Hot4/8/2014 8:12:00 PM
Description: Giants starter Tim Hudson improved to 2-0 with eight strong innings Tuesday against Arizona.
Insight: Hudson has thrown 15 2/3 innings over his first two starts and allowed just 10 hits and three runs (two earned) while posting an 11/0 K/BB.

Insight: The deal is worth $23 million over two seasons. Hudson had his 2013 campaign cut short because of a broken ankle. He should be ready for spring training in a few months.

11/4/2013 1:50:00 PM
Description: Numerous teams have shown interest in right-hander Tim Hudson so expect him to sign and start at the ripe old age of 38-years-old this season.
Insight: Hudson suffered a devastating ankle injury in July and wasn't able to pitch again over the remainder of the season. Hudson (8-7, 3.97 ERA, 1.19 WHIP in 21 starts) pitched well before the injury. However, he doesn't strike out enough batters to be a big-time fantasy asset.

Description: The Braves would like to retain Tim Hudson in free agency this offseason. SOURCE: David O'Brien, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: Hudson suffered a devastating ankle injury in July and wasn't able to pitch again the rest of the season. Hudson (8-7, 3.97 ERA in 21 starts) pitched well before the injury, however, and doesn't have any plans to retire. Returning to Atlanta for another season makes plenty of sense for the 38-year-old righthander.

7/25/2013 9:49:00 AM
Description: The latest update on Atlanta righthander Tim Hudson is that he suffered a fractured right ankle and will need season-ending surgery.
Insight: Eric Young stepped on Hudson's foot on a play at first base and Hudson went down writhing in pain. He'll finish the season 8-7 with a 3.97 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. Brandon Beachy should come off the disabled list and take over Hudson's spot in the rotation, but as the veteran leader to a young Braves' pitching staff it will be interesting to see how they hold up without him.

Description: Atlanta righthander Tim Hudson suffered what looked to be a serious injury Wednesday against the Mets. SOURCE: Mike Axisa, CBS Sports
Insight: Eric Young stepped on Hudson's foot on a play at first base and Hudson went down writhing in pain. He was eventually carted off the field. We don't know the extent of the injury yet but there's a pretty good chance Hudson has thrown his last pitch of 2013.

7/11/2013 10:31:00 PM
Description: Braves starter Tim Hudson has won two straight starts after going 0-6 in his previous 10.
Insight: Hudson allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits in seven innings Thursday against the Reds. It was his seventh quality start in his last eight outings.

7/5/2013 4:03:00 PM
Description: Braves starter Tim Hudson has had his start pushed back until Saturday, but no reason was given.
Insight: Hudson is 4-7 this season with a 4.22 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. It's possible that Hudson could be dealt to make room for the returning Brandon Beachy, but we await further word.
