Kissimmee, FL (Sports Network) - Jonathan Sanchez and Jeanmar Gomez combined for six shutout innings to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 3-2 decision over the Houston Astros in Grapefruit League play.

Sanchez yielded just one hit while striking out three over the first three frames, while Gomez allowed only a single and a walk while also fanning three over the next three.

Garrett Jones paced Pittsburgh offensively by going 2-for-3 with an RBI single, with Travis Snider and Jordy Mercer also knocking in runs in the victory.

The Astros, who managed only three hits on the day, received a two-run single from Jose Martinez in the bottom of the ninth. Starting pitcher Brad Peacock gave up just one run and struck out four over the first five innings.
