Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Branden Frazier scored 27 points and dished out seven assists as the Fordham Rams outlasted the Rhode Island Rams, 85-79, in Atlantic 10 play at Rose Hill Gymnasium.
Mandell Thomas netted 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Fordham (9-12, 2-6 A-10). Jon Severe came off the bench to score 16 points, and Bryan Smith chipped in 10 in the win. The victory snaps a two-game Fordham losing streak.
E.C. Matthews scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and distributed four assists for Rhode Island (11-11, 2-5). Xavier Munford netted 16, Gilvydas Biruta added 14, Jarelle Reischel chipped in 13, and Hassan Martin contributed 10 in the loss. Rhode Island has lost two of its last three games.
