NCAA Game Summary - Kansas State at Oklahoma State

(Monday, March 3rd)

Final Score: Oklahoma State 77, Kansas State 61

Stillwater, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Phil Forte scored a game-high 23 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys crushed the Kansas State Wildcats, 77-61, in a Big 12 Conference showdown at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Forte connected on 6-of-11 shots behind the 3-point line for the Cowboys (20-10, 8-9 Big 12), while the rest of the unit was just 1-of-6 on the perimeter. Marcus Smart produced 18 points, six rebounds and five assists, followed by Markel Brown and Le'Bryan Nash with 15 and 13 points, respectively, as the team's win streak stretched to four games.

The Wildcats (20-10, 10-7) were paced by Thomas Gipson and Wesley Iwundu with 10 points apiece, the former clearing 13 rebounds and the latter another 10 boards as the team snapped a two-game win streak.

Kansas State shot only 35.5 percent from the floor in the first half and was outscored at the free-throw line by a 15-3 margin, leaving the visitors with a 35-27 deficit at the break.

In the second half KSU again had trouble finding the basket, connecting on only 33.3 percent from the field, including 1-of-9 beyond the arc, not to mention just 15-of-24 at the free-throw line, as OSU pulled away for the comfortable win.

The Cowboys outscored Kansas State at the free-throw line, 28-18, and also limited the Wildcats to a mere 3-of-15 performance from long range.
