Description: Bears released RB Chester Taylor.
Insight: He was cut, he wasn't..he was cut than he wasn't. Well, finally, it looks like Chester Taylor has been released. Taylor used to be a dependable 3rd down back but his skills have diminished in the last few seasons, leading to a paltry 2.4 yards per carry. With the Jags losing Rashad Jennings for the season, he could land there. Wherever he ends up, he won't be a threat for carries.

Description: Bears GM Jerry Angelo wouldn't deny rumors that RB Chester Taylor could be on the chopping block. SOURCE: CHICAGO TRIBUNE
Insight: According to Angelo, "Players have to earn their way on the team." After averaging 2.4 yards a carry in 2010, it's safe to say signing Taylor last offseason is just another head scratcher during Angelo's tenure as general manager. We expect Taylor to look for work elsewhere.

Description: A source believes the Bears will part ways with RB Chester Taylor this offseason. SOURCE: CSN CHICAGO
Insight: So much for that signing. Taylor's 2.4 yards per carry in 2010 has already earned him a whopping $6 million in bonuses. After Matt Forte came back to form, expect the team to get younger at backup running back. Taylor may have blown his chance at another big role somewhere else after such a poor showing.

Description: CSN Chicago.com reports the Bears will cut Taylor this offseason.
Insight: Taylor did not have a productive 2010 after signing a big contract last offseason, as he averaged just 2.4 yards per carry during the regular season. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Bears RB Chester Taylor becomes the first running back, since the 1970 NFL merger, to average less than 2.4 yards per carry with a minimum of 100 carries. SOURCE: ESPN.COM
Insight: If the Bears brought Taylor in just to light a fire under Matt Forte, it worked after Forte averaged close to a yard more per rush from 2009 to 2010. Taylor clearly isn't the same runner he was in his earlier years at Minnesota.

12/6/2010 11:04:00 AM
Description: Taylor had nine carries for 33 yards and a touchdown along with five catches for 31 yards against the Lions on Sunday.
Insight: Taylor took advanntage of a nice matchup to have probably his best game of the season. He is most valuable as a handcuff to Matt Forte. (RapidDraft.com)

12/3/2010 1:37:00 PM
Description: Bears RB Chester Taylor and RB Kahlil Bell reportedly got into a fight during practice Thursday. SOURCE: CHICAGO TRIBUNE
Insight: Fighting teammates is nothing new for Taylor, who got into it with Vikings DL Erasmus James and Ravens OL Orlando Brown in Baltimore. This really doesn't have any fantasy relevance.

11/19/2010 10:02:00 AM
Description: Taylor had 11 carries for 10 yards against Miami on Thursday night.
Insight: This was Taylor's third straight game with double-digit carries, but there's not much more to say than that. (RapidDraft.com)

11/15/2010 11:02:00 AM
Description: Taylor had 11 carries for 33 yards with three catches for eight yards against Minnesota on Sunday.
Insight: Taylor now has double digit carries in two straight games, as the Bears seem to be making good on their promise to get him more involved in the offense. (RapidDraft.com)

11/11/2010 12:31:00 PM
Description: The Bears plan to give RB Chester Taylor more touches this week against his former team, the Vikings. SOURCE: CHICAGO TRIBUNE
Insight: Mike Martz said the meeting against Taylor's old team is a "special" one, but it's really hard to imagine him doing more than he has. Taylor averaged just 1.85 yards a carry in the two games where he got double-digit carries this season. Plus, he only has eleven receptions. He will see goal-line opportunities, but don't expect him to blow up.

11/11/2010 10:00:00 AM
Description: The Chicago Tribune reports Bears' offensive coordinator Mike Martz plans to get Taylor more touches this week against the Vikings.
Insight: Minnesota is of course Taylor's former team, as he played there from 2006-2009. He had 10 carries last week, just the second time all season he had double digit carries. (RapidDraft.com)

11/8/2010 12:00:00 PM
Description: Taylor had 10 carries for 13 yards and a touchdown along with one catch for 14 yards against the Bills on Sunday.
Insight: The Bears came through on their promise to use Taylor as their goal line back, and with Matt Forte struggling he may see more touches going forward. He is someone to keep an eye on. (RapidDraft.com)

10/26/2010 8:35:00 AM
Description: The Bears will use RB Chester Taylor as their goal-line running back moving forward. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: This really doesn't hurt Matt Forte's fantasy value much considering he only had one true goal-line score out of his three rushing touchdowns for the season. This doesn't do a whole lot for Taylor's fantasy value either considering he's been averaging just 3.6 yards a carry, with zero touchdowns on the year. Chicago has a bye this coming weekend.

10/25/2010 11:01:00 PM
Description: Zach Zaidman of 670 WSCR reports, via Twitter, that Bears' offensive coordinator Mike Martz said the team will use Taylor as their goal line back going forward.
Insight: Taylor is unlikely to see a major spike in touches at this point, but this does enhance his fantasy potential some. (RapidDraft.com)

9/28/2010 3:00:00 PM
Description: Taylor had just nine yards on three carries on Monday night against Green Bay.
Insight: Taylor is clearly behind Matt Forte right now, and he can probably be dropped in all but the deepest leagues at this point. (RapidDraft.com)

5/1/2010 12:48:00 AM
Description: ESPN.com reports Taylor acknowledged Matt Forte is the Bears' starting tailback, and he said he's ok with being a backup.
Insight: Taylor has spent most of his NFL career as a backup. His skill set seems well suited to Mike Martz's offense, so he should see the field plenty. (SportsBuff.com)

3/5/2010 3:18:00 PM
Description: The Chicago Sun Times reports the Bears have signed Taylor to a four-year, $12.5 deal, including $7 million guaranteed.
Insight: Taylor could easily win the starting job from Matt Forte, who had a dissappointing 2009 season. His skills seem well-suited to Mike Martz's offense. (SportsBuff.com)

3/5/2010 10:44:00 AM
Description: The Chicago Sun Times reports the Bears will have Taylor in for a visit on Friday.
Insight: The Bears look likely to be aggressive in the free agent market, but there's likely to be a decent amount of competition for Taylor's services. (SportsBuff.com)

3/4/2010 11:32:00 AM
Description: Don Banks of SI.com predicts the Seattle Seahawks will sign Taylor as a free agent.
Insight: Taylor could be a good fit in Seattle, and would only have to outperform Julius Jones and Justin Forsett to earn significant playing time. (SportsBuff.com)

3/4/2010 10:37:00 AM
Description: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports the Vikings are stil trying to work out a long-term deal with Taylor.
Insight: If Taylor hits the open market when free agency starts on Friday, he could garner interest from multiple teams. (SportsBuff.com)
