Description: The Jaguars shipped quarterback Blaine Gabbert to the 49ers on Tuesday. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: Jacksonville is getting a sixth-round pick for him. Gabbert's only chance to play next season will be if Colin Kaepernick gets injured. He's shown us very little in his first three years in the league (22 TD, 24 INT, 66.4 rating in 28 career games).

Description: Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert is back at practice but he won't start this week against San Francisco. SOURCE: Hays Carlton, Florida Times-Union
Insight: The Jaguars have realized that Chad Henne is the better option at quarterback and it's doubtful they'll go back to Gabbert again unless Henne gets hurt. Gabbert is owned in less than one percent of fantasy leagues and that's probably the way it should be.

10/7/2013 3:00:00 PM
Description: Jags signal caller Blaine Gabbert said he heard his hamstring pop during Sunday's loss to St. Louis.
Insight: It looks like Chad Henne will be Jacksonville's starter for the foreseeable future which is good news for wideouts Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon.

10/6/2013 3:21:00 PM
Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert will not return after being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Insight: Chad Henne be his replacement. Gabbert was 9-for-19 with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert will get the start Sunday against Indianapolis. He's missed Jacksonville's last two games with an injured thumb. SOURCE: Ryan O'Halloran, Florida Times-Union
Insight: Chad Henne will head back to the bench. Gabbert has been a huge bust since entering the league in 2011. Expect more of the same Sunday versus the Colts.

9/16/2013 10:15:00 AM
Description: Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert won't play next Sunday either, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union.
Insight: Gabbert needed 15 stitches in his hand after hitting another player's face mask late in the season opener. That's actually a good thing as the Jaguars are facing Seattle and no QB is going to thrive against the Seahawks defense.

Insight: Gabbert needed 15 stitches in his hand after hitting another player's face mask late in Sunday's loss to Kansas City. The equally underwhelming Chad Henne will get the start in his place.

9/8/2013 10:14:00 AM
Description: According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Blaine Gabbert (thumb) is expected to start at quarterback for the Jaguars Sunday against Kansas City.
Insight: Gabbert suffered a thumb injury during the preseason and still isn't 100 percent. The Chiefs D/ST is a strong play Sunday.

Description: It looks like Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert will be a game-time decision Sunday against Kansas City. SOURCE: Ryan O'Halloran, Florida Times-Union
Insight: Gabbert suffered a thumb injury during the preseason and still isn't 100 percent. If Gabbert can't go, Chad Henne would get the start at quarterback.

9/3/2013 10:15:00 AM
Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert is still having thumb pain, according to a Florida Times-Union report.
Insight: While Gabbert has little fantasy value himself, he has two receivers who have proved to be worthy of attention from fantasy owners - Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon. It won't effect Blackmon, who is suspended at the moment, but it will make Shorts a riskier start in Week 1.

Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert played well Saturday against the Jets (13-for-16, 165 yards, one TD) and will be the team's Week 1 starter versus Kansas City. SOURCE: Ryan O'Halloran, Florida Times-Union
Insight: Unfortunately, an injured thumb will keep Gabbert out for the rest of the preseason. While Gabbert has little fantasy value himself, he has two receivers who have proved to be worthy of attention from fantasy owners - Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon.

8/17/2013 10:43:00 PM
Description: Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert played well Saturday against the Jets (13-for-16, 165 yards, one TD) but the outing was spoiled after he suffered a sprained thumb in the second quarter.
Insight: Considering that Gabbert throws footballs for a living, any kind of hand or finger injury, no matter how minor (and this does appear to be pretty minor), is still worth mentioning. We'll see if the injury affects Gabbert's passing next week against Philadelphia.

7/31/2013 3:44:00 PM
Description: According to Ryan O'Halloran of Jacksonville.com, Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert (ankle) expects to return to practice Thursday.
Insight: Gabbert suffered a sprained ankle Monday and sat out Tuesday. He was able to do some light running and other individual drills Wednesday. Going into his third year, Gabbert is competing with Chad Henne for the starting job this season; neither guy is a fantasy option, but a competent passing attack would at least take some of the burden off Maurice Jones-Drew.

7/29/2013 7:43:00 PM
Description: According to the Associated Press, Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert sprained his right ankle during practice Monday and left the field on a cart.
Insight: He was seen walking without a limp about two hours later, so it doesn't seem like a big deal. Gabbert is competing with Chad Henne for the starting job this season; neither guy is a fantasy option, but a competent passing attack would at least take some of the burden off Maurice Jones-Drew.

1/10/2013 9:50:00 PM
Description: New Jaguars GM David Caldwell said the team plans to have an open competition at quarterback. "Whether it's through the draft or through free agency, we'll bring in some more people to compete at the quarterback position," Caldwell said. "We're going to let the best player win that position."
Insight: Caldwell also said Thursday that he can't see how Tim Tebow will end up with the Jaguars, so don't look for him to be involved in the open competition. Blaine Gabbert is still just 23 years old but he hasn't shown much development yet.

11/21/2012 12:55:00 AM
Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert, who left the game with Houston due to a right elbow injury, has been placed on the IR, according to a John Clayton report.
Insight: Thus ending another disappointing season for the Jaguars' quarterback. Chad Henne threw for more than 300 yards as his replacement against Houston and was going to take over the role of starter even before this news.

11/18/2012 1:38:00 PM
Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert left the game with Houston due to a right elbow injury. He has also been dealing with a left shoulder injury.
Insight: Chad Henne came into the game and led the Jaguars on a touchdown drive ending in a pass to tight end Marcedes Lewis. Jacksonville may not be in a hurry to put Gabbert back in the lineup if Henne has continued success.

11/16/2012 6:37:00 PM
Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert (shoulder) is probable for Week 11 against the Texans.
Insight: Gabbert left late in last Thursday's game against the Colts but we suspect it was more of a precautionary measure than something serious. As it stands, Gabbert will try to play the rest of the season with a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. The Texans held a healthy Gabbert to 7-of-19 for 53 yards and an interception in Week 2 so the Jaguars QB should not be started under any circumstances in Week 11.

11/4/2012 11:10:00 AM
Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert had his strongest fantasy performance of the season last Sunday against Green Bay, throwing for 303 yards and a touchdown one week after he tore the labrum in his non-throwing shoulder.
Insight: Gabbert came out of the game without re-injurying the shoulder and faces a Detroit Lions' secondary that is a bit beaten up. If injuries or the bye weeks have your starter watching from the sidelines, Gabbert could be a low-end starter.

10/28/2012 5:20:00 PM
Description: Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert had his strongest fantasy performance of the season Sunday against Green Bay, throwing for 303 yards and a touchdown (to tackle Guy Whimper) one week after he tore the labrum in his non-throwing shoulder.
Insight: Gabbert completed 27-of-49 and outgunned Aaron Rodgers by 117 yards but Jacksonville lost anyway. Still, if Gabbert can continue to perform like this (unlikely) it would help out the fantasy values of Cecil Shorts (8-116) and Justin Blackmon (4-67).
