Mingo ruled out for Browns' season opener
Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Browns have ruled out rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo for Sunday's season opener against Miami.
The Plain Dealer reported the news Friday, citing Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski saying the bruised lung Mingo suffered in the preseason was the reason.
Mingo, the sixth overall pick in this year's draft, left an Aug, 15 exhibition game against the Detroit Lions with the injury. He was hospitalized for two days before being released.
Doctors consulted on the nature of the injury at the time stated that a recovery period is uncertain, taking from as little as two weeks to as long as two months.
