Noesi, Eaton carry White Sox over Twins

Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Hector Noesi pitched into the eighth, and Adam Eaton knocked in a pair of runs as Chicago topped Minnesota, 5-2, in the opener of a four-game series.

Alexei Ramirez and Tyler Flowers added an RBI each for the White Sox, who were coming off a series loss at home against the Royals.

Noesi (5-7) worked 7 2/3 innings, giving up only a two-run homer to Danny Santana and two other hits while striking out three. Jake Petricka pitched a quiet ninth to earn his fifth save.

Phil Hughes (10-7) left the game one batter into the fourth after taking a ball off the right ankle. He allowed two runs on four hits with four strikeouts in defeat for the Twins, who had taken two of three from the Indians.
